Hi everybody.... As this is my first post, my thanks to NB for developing & sharing this strategy and to Steve / George (lol) for coding the EA...

I am running the EA OOTB on 12 pairs (FXCM demo), pretty much 24 hours, but have a lot more losses than banked gains - am not complaining (!) but could some people please post this week's results after close today?

Squalou's wonderful indicator may be picking up trend changes well before the 8/2 crosses.
An active BE OOTB has stopped the string of losers. Seven winners in a row, now, so climbing back up. Glenn

Finally got round to setting up a demo account, so far today had a winner on EU but losers on GJ and GU.

Edit: Found out why it was opening strange trades for GJ, The indicator had been renamed 10.1 S%26R Daily.mq4 during download and so dropping on the chart works fine but EA has values from template for all pairs i dropped it onto! After renaming and reloading it all seems fine now so hopefully it will trade as expected.

No I have not tried the EA. I will be shutting down for the Christmas season and will pick up the newest version after the new year. I will be closing all my trades soon and take a break.

Go ON! I will believe you! Honest I will. People who are not aware of your systems may not believe you but I will.

The reason I believe you is because, I made money with your 3x3 and 6x6 system, I made money with your buy low, sell high system, I made money with your 4H system and I made money with your version5 system. The only problem is that I am a slow learner and as soon as I master one system (takes around 4 to 6 months) then you evolve it to a newer refined system. Hence, 10.0 and now 10.1. The trouble I am having with version 10 and 10.1 is they are trend following and D1. So you have to give me time and surely I will make money with this system also.

According to the Cowboy IBFX trade analyzer I had 240 profitable trades that averaged 40 pips each. That is 9600 pips in one month. Of course that does not count my losers of which I had 78. But all in all a good month. I dont think I have ever had a month that good before. I always consider April 2010 as my best month ever but I believe this one was better. I cant access that information anymore so I guess I will have to guess pip wise that was my best month.

erm now, erm, that Sam has already broken the ice, erm, here is what I wanted to ask for but restrained myself because such puny requests can have a devastating effect on the workload of the coder.

Could we have the ability to resize the labels, so we can still have the label on the screen at our own comfortable reading level?

Just jumping an a bandwagon here, so blame Sam.

And I'll tag on yet another. Maybe it's a question, really. The current indicator has levels all the way up to R10, whereas, I believe Bob just went to R2. Is there going to be a setting in the EA to take advantage of these further Rs & Ss, or at this point are they superfluous? I probably just don't understand it. I certainly don't know what to do with it all.

IMHO, I would hope the EA is already running to meet Bob's level of performance and everything else is for bonus points but it seems the market is so quiet, nothing is going on to try out.

I try to keep my screens as uncluttered as possible so I like two lines. I also at this point see no need to use more since the indicator automatically draws new lines as price moves past each one. Probably the setting is good for studying back history and learning but as far as live trading I find two enough info to trade.

I do not think that anyone has had much success with the EA. There are two possible reasons:

• 1) The time of year is wrong for Bob's trading method. Bob has already stated that he is knocking off for Christmas; in the past and with different systems, he has done the same. As other traders shut down for the impending holiday, liquidity drops liks a stone and trading opportunities reduce.
  2) The EA is rubbish.

It all depends on what TF and which pairs and what settings you are using. Are you using Hanover? It is very strange, because we are entering in the direction of the prevailing trend.

Mind you, as a general rule none of Bob`s systems have been successful in their transition to a fully automated system. Having said that, EAs form an important part of Bob`s systems. In his words when a trade set up is forming and he is too impatient to enter, then he uses the EA to ensure entry is at the optimum time according to the rules. He uses around 30 different EAs for different set ups (no way I am going to copy that, too complicated and complex for my slow brain ) .This was the norm until this version! With 10.1 he uses pending orders instead of using an EA for entry.

MACMAN says that EAs should be utilized as traders assistants. Imagine you are the senior trader and have a team junior traders as your assistants. You have instructed them to trade according to a certain set of rules. Once you have done this do you leave them unsupervised? Of Course not, you supervise to ensure they have entered correctly and you take other factors such as fundamentals and past price action into account. IMHO this is the best way of utilizing EAs and from what I have read, almost all the successful / full time traders utilize EAs in such a fashion.

STEVE, is it possible to have an alert (email as well as audio) for when the pending order is placed, in order for the trader to further analyize and decide what to do, to go with the trade or not. If we could have this it would be very useful in trading this system semi automatically as well as seeing what the EA is doing, correct or wrong in fully automatic mode.
