In any event, an experienced custom coder is probaby not going to use my code. Most coders have their own template, or method of operation, that they follow. The doc file spelling out the conditions is more valuable for this purpose.
Okay, good.
Maybe you can post a bold warning in CAPITAL RED letters above the attachments - not that it will stop anyone fully intent on destroying their accounts ! :D

Let's see how you proceed with CTS

Hi coolncalm,
It's not obvious to grasp the mechanics of CTS. So let's take a real example.
Below we have a CADJPY chart. OK?

According to the latest Baluda indicator, Sell entry is when the first red Bar Histogram appears. Correct ?
and Buy signal is at the first green Bar Histogram. (marked with vertical blue lines)

The problem, here is that buy signal is near to the Daily Pivot, which pushed downward the price again to resume the DT. How could we manage to avoid after the reversal, Buy signal lead to a very bad trade

Effluvium,

The TMASlopeCTS indicator is just one of the deciding factors. Another one is the proximity of one of the FastTMA lines. In your but signal example that is obviously not the case.

In a DT-**, yes. But this is a UT, so no short trades, only longs until a new bias emerges.

No, momentum value cannot be a buy signal on its own if no other entry conditions have been met yet as is the obvious case here. And it doesn't have to be the very first weak signal, we just define negative values from -0.80 upwards as weakening momentum - any weakness is valid IF and WHEN other entry conditions have been met.

Be careful with price at MP - confirm first if there will be a cross or a bounce, expecially since the previous high was a H4 high. If price bounces firmly off MP and other conditions are present, then consider a long entry.

I thinkn that AUDUSD short was a text book setup according to your strategy, yet, you say you won't "gamble" around the monthly pivot!

What gives!?
You have asked for clarification before and I did tell you that a retrace (i.e. any **-RR) goes towards/ beyond MP after a higher TF alert. Now what is confusing about wanting to know which one it is before entry i.e. if the retrace does bounce before MP or break through it before entry? If a retrace entry opportunity occurs after the confirmation, the choice is clear.

If I wasn't clear before, then my apologies - my English teacher must have taught me wrongly. CTS makes absolutely NO (again NO- repeated for clarity) attempt to second-guess price at MP. It never does/will. I don't know any successful randon walk predicting systems that do. I believe it is only best to follow fast upon confirmation. Price behaviour at MP is not a pre-determined CTS condition - it can't tell that price will not break through MP. All that it can prescribe at MP (especially at MP during a retrace) is confirmation first then entry.

In fact, always observe first what price does at MP in a retracement before entry. It is the very first signal that a trend change may be afoot (and when a trend wants to change, it usually does regardless of what system the trader is using).

Please if by chance, anything I have said above is unclear, let me know.

Cheers,
CC
I'm sorry CC, but it's totally unclear to me!! I've been studying a LOT and following this thread, but in all honesty, your post above has just confused me [almost completely!!] and doesn't answer the question for me I'm afraid.

I've read your post again and again and I'm really sorry, but I must be the most unintelligent person on this whole forum, because it just doesn't make any sense!

Is anyone else confused? Or is it just me?

It must be my English teacher then - I was certain until now that I couldn't have been clearer there :D
So tell me what is still confusing, dear friend - is it confirming an MP cross or bounce that is unclear? You don't want to do that? You would like to jump in pronto (I can't stop you even if I wanted to, you know? :) )?

Hi CC, The whole thing is muddled up now!! But if you'd be kind enough to start with defining MP cross & MP bounce. That would certainly help!

I'm sticking with this even though I'm finding it very difficult! Because I believe you have something very good to teach us here!

That's easy.
  • MP cross: PA crosses MP in a direction, far enough to be followed by DP
  • MP bounce: PA does not cross MP in a direction, far enough to be followed by DP, before resuming its original direction
Action steps:
  • If we get an entry signal while price is close to and heading towards MP, we wait to confirm a cross or a bounce
  • If PA bounces off MP, we can then enter as soon as it crosses to the other side of SMA(20). The system will provide the highly probable entry points but please always do the safe thing. Always aim to follow fast, not predict.
PS: CTS uses SMA(20) as a proxy for the middle line of a typical Bollinger Band (upper BB is the same as above SMA(20) and vice versa).

Now, can I be clearer than this? Let me know

Thanks for this.

Is crossing the 20SMA a new thing? Or have I missed where you explained it earlier? Do you want a candle close on the other side of the 20SMA?

More questions!

1. Would you take a trade at a WP if price is in a suitable retracement and the above criteria are met?

2. Do you find it more reliable to take deals at MP and WP or FastTMA line?

Thanks again,

Rob

Am I seeing this properly? If my annotation is correct, then this is a perfect setup.

But I don't understand why you said you don't "gamble" around monthly pivots?

Sorry for labouring these points!! But like I said, I think you have something good here and I want to learn it!!
