Balls to the Wall, a 1 minute 1 trade EA

No problem George, I'm just trying to help. I also was not a believer of the open time. But I read Mark Fisher's ACD book, and he specifically trades the open hour...and he has a huge trading firm doing this. He says there is an edge there. And who am I to argue with someone that successful.

- 3 oct, updated to v1i with BE20/10 JS 30, false for swap and zeljko on EUR/USD AND USD/CHF. Same time of 8 to see if the EA trades the two pairs correctly because of their correlation again.
- 6 oct Added Wolfie v1c to GBPUSD and EURUSD BE20/5 JS20. Fractal TF5 and trading TF15. Using slope and angle as true. HTF15, LTF5. Slope values 4,2,1 HTF and LTF left standard
- 6 oct added Balls v1k with EU@15 and UC@16. Normal BE JS, new Magic and 1% risk.
-6 oct lowered ALL charts to risk=1%.
- all Risk at 1% from big hiding from previous version- Balls v1i and v1k with v1c of Wolfie. 2 charts each. different magics and watching correlation.
- 21 oct, wiped all charts,reset account, new settings all round after mediocre results from previous versions and settings. Used info to come up with following settings; ONLY testing on EURUSD here.
- all at 1%
-1st eurusd chart, Balls OOTB on 15M chart, time=15, no slope , fractal and stoch to look at chart open at 15M. BE20/10 JS20+BE
- 2nd eurusd chart on 1M, but fractal and slope set to 15M, slope at 1440 2,4,0. TIme at 15 also and swaps all false, BE20/10 JS20+BE. 24hr set.
-3rd chart at 1M, OOTB, no code change, time @10 no slope, BE10/5 JS@10+BE.
- Wolfie 1d, 1st chart 1M chart, OOTB changed time to 9-18pm, and BE@10/5 JS10+BE
-Wolfie 2nd chart, Stoch and Fractal at 15M TF, time 9-18pm, slope value (no angle), 1440, 2,2,0. Zelko and swaps false, BE15/5 JS15+BE.

Hi all,
above is a copy/paste of the settings i have been using and now, going to use on the original demo account for Balls and Wolfie.
This account is in my demo list as' 1min 1trade AKA Balls to the Wall, Wolfie v1d F32'.
It is the original account that did so well with Balls and includes the settings i have tested until now.
The latest settings start at the 21 oct mark. somewhere in the middle.

A brief synopsis of the use of V1g with v1h,i,j,k is that they do tend to take positions opposite from each other. That is what they were meant to do.
For those who dont remember, it was(EDIT-) FXJOE's spot earlier on v1g that brought this change.
I ran both to see if i could catch the swings and at least BE the positions, but there were no clear cut winners or losers, pretty much even on this, so going to drop v1g and continue with only the latest v1L.

I have also noticed the trend changes and ranging times definately played a roll on the flat results. Therefore i have chosen to stick to 15pm as my times. Others are still testing the original times and i suggest they continue to do so while i try a different approach.

15 or 3pm my time, is the time after the usual 14.30 news that often has a big impact. Its also 1 hour before my 16 (4pm) high-impact news. I'm hoping the 14.30 news sets the trend and by 16.00 the trend should continue. I hope the settings across the EURUSD charts will pick this up and take the positions to wins. I only hope to BE or JS. I am not targeting the TP as my settings are way too tight to hope for a TP.

Hope this gives everyone a better idea of what i'm testing and results can also be followed on fxbook. Please feel free to comment.

With Wolfie, i'm still struggling. Trying the next phase and will see how this works. Lifted the TF's and rather adventurous with the slope settings, with and without 'angle' option. There are other charts on other platforms, but will elaborate on those when i see a clear cut win. There are also no mixing issues with the EA's when i run them concurrently. Just remeber to keep a different magic if using on same pairs with other EA's.

Hi Guys,
The reason I was not online much in the last week is because i had allot of hospital appointments which took up 4 out of the 7 days of last week.
One of the appointment was to have my first angiogram. The result were not good for I am now on the list for a heart bypass I don't know many but they were talking about 4-5 by passes. so now I am arranging allot of things before the operation happens,
At least the basket trading keeps my mind off of the waiting game.

The last couple of weeks have not been good for the basket trading system that I am trying out.
the 1% riskpercentage just didn't cut it couldn't even get to 5% TP of the basket setting.
so i have changed the risksettings too 3%.
The 15% basket TP settings never reached its goal in over 2 weeks. (I did close it out once with $2000.00 profit.
the 5% basket TP account did reach it's goal a couple of times, but then the last 2 weeks haven't been good for this system.
when i was using more than 5 pairs the results were allot better maybe I need to go back to more pairs.

Off Topic: I'm really sorry to hear about your health problems, jth. I understand the serious nature of the problem that you have. I actually work for a medical device manufacturer on artificial heart valves in my day job. I'm not allowed per company policy to discuss and make recommendations.

But, I would heavily suggest you look through all of your options and understand that there are many different ways to treat your condition. If you want to talk in PM, that would keep the private information safe. But I would definitely look into the minimally invasive surgeries if possible.

I'm sorry, my core expertise is not on coronary bypass. My employer focuses on artificial heart valve replacement and repair. Right now, we can thread a heart valve on a catheter through the blood vessel in your leg into your heart, and then deploy the heart valve. It has been on the market in Europe for a few years. The patient is able to leave the hospital the next day without open heart surgery. I know in our other facility, we are also researching minimally invasive surgery for sternotomy.

In the last few years, the area of minimally invasive surgery advanced dramatically. Just a few years ago, this way not even possible.

Jth, i'm sorry to hear of your troubles, really hope you feel better soon and we can get this Balls EA to rock.

Heres a quick update with some pics of where i am with these EA's. Sorry to be so scarce lately, i need to get some more results from the various platforms and EA's.

Glenn, i am having issues with 'angle'. You may have had a good point here. I've been watching Baluda's Slope Values indi on the charts and those angles dont add up to when Wolfie or Balls need to make a trade. If we wait for them to all line up, we'll hardly have trades. Even then, the market gets tired and turns against us anyways. I'm definately not saying to scalp, but from what i'm seeing, i would like Balls and Wolfie to come in at a better chosen position. and just to at least hit BE. anything above that is just a bonus. This is not how this EA was intended to be traded , just the way i prefer to trade it.

Reading Jboys post above makes me want to try another experiment exactly as Balls is meant to be traded OOTB, but with much higher TF's. Has anyone tried running Balls on 1Hr or 4Hr TF's?


Wolfeman and myself see the afternoon retrace often, like this morning. Exactly what we're trying to pick up. My one Balls EA caught the whole ride up and then got JS'ed out, and then the losing picture EA took another buy when it should have sold. Actually, it would have been better if there was no trade at that point.

This is my experience so far and i suggest increasing the chart TF's to allow a broader look at the market. My BE's and JS's will stay in place and i would actually prefer no SL by the time we get these settings right.
I'm sticking to 1% throughout and varying between 10/5 and 20/10 for BE and then JS is usually set at 20 or 25, depending on the spread of the pair.

Ill attach some set files when i see some prgress. Its too soon for this still and would prefer to readup here on some other results from users before posting. I think the stoch might be the key here as Glenn had pointed out earlier, but not at higher TF's, maybe a max of 30min. Maybe a combo of Glenns attempt and these settings.
I cant see the settings you had tried in your experiment Glenn, did you edit them off the post? It would be usefull so we dont try something similar and waste time.

All the updates or changes i make as we go along are listed in the 'general' tab of my fxbook page for each platform with a date infront of a sentence. If there's no date, just look at previous lines until you see a date entered, that'll be the date for the last changes. I only post here when i can draw a conclusion.

Thanks for the update, Cuz. I removed the WolfieB. test data, since I have not been able to be a good judge of what is reasonable. I had some quick success using Harry's settings in slopey fractal with a 240/60 mix, so that was the core of the effort. Obviously, I want angle and slope to work, but it will likely require your expertise to find the magic settings. I appreciate your fabulous testing. Glenn

here the best i've been able to do with Wolfie. I have this set file running for about two weeks like this and i've only had 1 winning trade and one that is open right now, but losing slightly. Should be a winner as my charts show usdjpy is headed long, so lets see.

look for this in my demos list "Ballsv1 G and L and Wolfie's with Steves pairs and line times CC (NO MBTM yet acct reset 20 oct)"

My settings for v1L have not worked here, but i've had some decent progress on v1g here. will post that set in next post for v1G. I'll check up on Wolfie and Balls at work PC's and post those set files too tomorrow.

Attached the set file for Wolfie thats been working on usdjpy, if anyone cares to try it out on other charts, that would be nice to see another set of results for more charts. I get too confused when i try too many, too much going on. There is a pic with the highlighted closed position from this set file.
