Anyway there are going to be some massive code changes in the next few days with CTS-Don , MultiBob, Bob's Bot, Giime Your Hair (whose BUY logic should be DO>DP, not the reverse, given Bob's red DO and black DP lines in his scalp 10.3 tpl) etc given Bob's newfangled 10.3 !

I posted a note to Baluda last night talking about separating the calc engine for all his indys so all indys can be run with one calc source, relieving CPU. Think you were first to suggest similar. Would be good to have all TF slope strengths displayed on same chart in order.

Sorry about the problems you are having. I did forget a code snippet which I've now added.

BTW, I'm using iWeb to make the web page (couple code snippets required to share my movie, and of course I forgot one of them, then sharing webpage through making short link name for my website stored on dropbox

You should be able to play by just clicking on the movie, and automatically the best version be chosen to play, depending on your internet connection.

10.3 looks like its going to be a great scalper! And it is so much simpler. I'm following it closely.

Scalping may differ with trend-following in directions and durations, however, and early trend entry gaps may yet exist. Will see if they both deal with trend starts similarly.

Thanks for the Steve Balls mention... watching for your integrated CTS ranger to come out...
Personally my preference is for an EA that can also be switched to an Indy with visual text alerts on the current chart for all trade recommendations. You never know when a simple mistake in an EA will wipe you out, or worse !

Okay, its "close trades Friday", so no updates for new trades today; let's just see how we did with yesterday's journal.

There were 20 good decisions - a 77% accuracy. Not bad, but should've been better. A data input error (DE) had a GIGO effect - gbpaud had its current pivot formation recorded as UT-R but was/is a DT. Also, 3 charts with conflicting signals should have been Clarified (C) and not immediately decided. Maybe it was the distraction from the extra time & effort put in to get the first journal up early - dunno, but anyway, not bad still though accuracy could/should have been closer to 92%.

Yesterday, off the journal, despite many Unmet Conditions (UC) for entry (edge, HPTP proximity, Mom), 8 trades were made - 7 winners and a loss. The unmet entry conditions did a good job of keeping most of the wrong decisions and iffy setups from being traded. The winners bagged 565pips (60+48+83+160+105+64+45); the loser lost 30pips leaving a net win of 535pips. Not bad for 1hr's analytical work, eh?

There were 3 Not Traded's (NT) because entry conditions are just being met today that I have not entered new trades (70+65+10pips and counting).

We'll see how next week's analysis and trading will fare. Enjoy your weekend, guys.

Just a heads-up guys,

Last week, one of the foremost thought-leaders in the online retail forex world whose trend-following system CTS was adapted from, launched a sweet and simple scalping system. Ofcourse, I'm talking about the great, incredible Nanningbob! The system essentially suggests trading in both directions during ranging markets based on daily opens, until a trend breaks out for 10.2a to follow.

Always the adapter who never says no to a good pip-making opportunity, I immediately started following the new system, though I have my reservations about countertrading as many of my early losses came from ranging countertrades that whiplashed or suddenly trended and hit all stoplosses. But as I'll take pro-bias scalp pips anyday (prices oscillate so I'm happy to trade only the pro-bias leg of a swing), I was interested in seeing what could be adapted. To see what was new on offer, I only need to drop the Daily Open (DO) indy on the current CTS template and use the green Daily Pivot.

The system is very simple to follow. On each chart I tested, the scalping system worked wonderfully well for some days, worked both well and not so well for some days (PA whiplashes), didn't work for some days (especially after extreme highs/lows) and didn't trade for some days (when PA did not touch DO).

Please note that these tests are simply aimed at how to make more pips - i.e. adaptation is the objective, not comparison.

I will do further tests but with extreme filters as I suspect that they may offer a way to increase the consistency of the wins. If that turns out to be the case, I hope to suggest some countertrading guidelines here for anyone who may be interested in countertrading.

If you will like to do a similar test on your own, you can get the Daily Open indy from the 10.3 thread. If/when you add it to the CTS template, I'll suggest that you delete the old SMA20 indy as both are used for the placement of entry levels and they both occupy similar spaces (DO is similar to SMA(1.1) on D1 TF) - there's no need to further clutter an already indy-heavy template, yes?

+1 I'm doing the same thing. But I feel a bit uncomfortable with this 10.3

Another possibility to increase probability in CTS trades that I'm currently studying is this:

I kind of modify it. Instead of trading the all basket, I pick and build my own basket like this:
-I open a several offline chart using this method (H1) and I apply a matrix system (such as Genesis or symphonie matrix) (MACD is fine but I found matrix signal more clear). Mainly the idea is this:

- Get a nice signal in H1 offline chart (exemple here: a buy signal)
- Now go see your favorite CTS charts for the pairs concerned (here GU,EU,AU,NU,GJ,EJ,AJ,NJ)
- Find a nice buy CTS Trade among those pairs (exemple this nice AJ trade ; UT-RR2 becoming a UT-R, also confirmed by 10.3)

That's what I'm digging into. That's why I'll delay my "CTS cheat sheet" (also because my health get worst :/).

Hope it can help, I'm thinking this can be a very powerful stuff.

pps: @Don; What do you think about some indi that shows both 10.3 and CTS bias (UT/DT) correlated.
something like:
10.3 signal + WP>MP = indi buy signal
10.3 signal + WP<MP = indi sell signal
As such, we could now instantly what are the interesting pairs. Just an idea...

No offense Fable but I think you've gone indicator mad

I dare you to force yourself to think of the top 3 indicators in your strategy and chuck out the rest. Less is more IMO. Too many signals and you'll just confuse yourself. Each to their own of course, good luck always!!

I don't take any offense, quite the opposite ! Thanks for sharing your opinion. Yes there is a lots of indies but It's just some testing template, sorry for that.

As I was writting to Jasonckb,
The concept is quite simple, put odds in your favour.

1. Use the basket H1 offline chart (I'm thinking adding CHFJPY to it because it's well correlated with the other pair). And wait for a nice symphonie signal (or macd what ever)

--> The point is to know if we should buy USD, JPY pair or sell

2. Find a nice CTS/10.3 setup among the pairs

--> Just find a chart with a bias = the bias from basket

3. Wait for a matrix signal on CTS chart

--> Matrix is not necessary, CTS entries are good enough and generally even better, it's just I like the alerts.

4. Rate it with GPS trading

--> Not necessary neither, just GPS is a good confirmation ranking system for matrix signals.

5. Take the trade or not

--> Depending on your MM

Maybe it's clearer explain like this.
The great advantage from using the basket indicator is the fact that it give you the complete market bias, sort of...
So it should help us to pick good CTS entries.

Anyway it's just a idea.

Thanks for the link. I had read something similar recently - will take another look now that you say its correlation can be useful for firing CTS trades. I have been wondering how best to basket-trade the correlated pairs with CTS without the downside of having to close out pairs with drawdown or yet to hit their range extremes just because the basket has reached its target profit.

Looking forward to you sharing your "CTS cheat sheet" soon - we can always learn from one another.
