Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
So we can use the 5.1 EA for any trade, MY DO EA when my DO matches Don's or pending orders at DO with Don when they dont. Will have to work on that one.

Bob, you said:
"His weekly open.pivot on the 4H chart is also very good."
Unless you are talking about All Pairs, I haven't put my code to correct Weekly open / pivot yet. And if I do, it will be on H1. Unless another coder wants to check validity of my work on H4, I'm not recommending it, since we shift 1 hour "chunks" between brokers to get to correct Eastern time offset. We don't shift "chunks" of 4 hours at a time, but 1. Also, between brokers, no one shares the same H4 bars, which is something we can't change without going to offline charts. Do you want to go to offline charts for your strategies? If not, I'd advise us sticking to H1 where we should be on same page if code is correct, not H4 where we can't get there by current method. Just trying to be truthful as I can be about it. Using it on H4, unless another programmer is involved or it's tested by many people on different brokers to show it is consistent in the shift, is not what I desire and cannot and won't guarantee by any means.
I will however continue to try and make sure the readings of current indicator are correct when on H1 chart.
My process for doing this will be as follows:
1. Get the price of the 17:00 eastern bar on the broker for each day last week.
2. Make sure i am getting same price.
3. To double-check, I will also get the time of the bar that gives me the price. Different brokers are different, and some do not start at 17:00 on Sunday, and will have a later bar.
4. I think my code needs improved just a bit for week open, to get not only last week open time and price, but week before that. I can't use (10080/Period()) number of bars back in getting iHighest and iLowest to figure Pivots, because there simply is not 7 days in a week of data, but 5, and not 5 whole days either. So I think I need to check and maybe change that code. But it should be made clear that the monthly and weekly pivots and opens are not mine, and I haven't used code to fix it yet here on Steve's forum, so this is yet to be done. Any Weekly or Monthly pivot lines may or may not be different between brokers.
Also Bob, PLEASE do me a favor and TRY something else like MB Trading before saying there is not much difference between the old and new. On YOUR broker maybe it's not much difference (what, 2 hours between Forex (FXDD "0" day start time), and Cowboy IBFX ("0" GMT)?) On MB Trading, the "0" bar/beginning of day is more hours in time from real Forex day start. Why not compare old Daily Open and Pivot indicators on THAT broker vs using new indicator I posted, also on THAT broker. Then compare and tell me there is not much difference. If you, the creator of the strategy, is not "getting" what I'm saying, and see little difference just because you refuse to try another broker, everything I've done is in vain, since you see little difference, but not everyone is using same broker as you, and THAT's the point. If we were, then we would have targeted 0 GMT and not 21/22 GMT (depending on DST) / 17:00 Eastern (regardless of DST) as day start time. In fact, all daily open indicators and daily pivot indicators would already line up between brokers, and GMT offset never would have been mentioned, neither DST offset, or Eastern offset. But the fact is, we are not all using BFX, so PLEASE understand what I'm saying. Maybe you meant on YOUR broker it's not much different, but on others it is, and it's mainly for THEM that I did this, NOT ME (since I'm already on a broker that opens and sets their "0" bar at correct time of day at Forex day open, so normal indicators work for me on THIS broker, but NOT other brokers that I have used, and others do use).
Sorry to be a stickler on this Bob, but the importance is there for me at least, or I would have kept my mouth shut and continue to let everyone speak different languages thinking they were speaking the same one. It would have been a lot easier for me to do so, and taken a lot less time. But it wouldn't have been right to do that since WE ARE NOT ALL USING THE SAME BROKER, AND THEREFORE DO ALL HAVE THE SAME DAY OPEN TIME.
Whew. I need to rest. Sorry if I have offended anyone, including you Bob. Just trying my VERY best to get my point across. Otherwise everything I've done here IMHO is for nothing - we're all still speaking different language. You have GOT to understand the REASON I have done what I've done. Am I the best coder? HARDLY. I'm sure a better one can improve the code for us all, and probably even get it to work on H4 across criminals and it give very close numbers, but I don't take it for granted that it does this already. it has not been tested across many brokers and compared to see the difference. This hasn't even been done for H1 yet, let alone H4. If everyone WOULD compare old indicators vs new indicators on all timeframes, and you mathematicians like me out there, please make sure numbers are correct - I will be trying to do the same. Any coders out there, instead of sending me code snippets, please do put your hands in my code and see if it can be improved, and if so, please do so and share the resulting indicator with the rest of us. I'm not near as much worried about my name being on indicator as I am it being correct and correct the PROBLEM, so we all ARE talking apple vs apples, and when someone says that DO is on top of DP, everyone else will be able to agree and not say "not on my broker".
Kindest regards all,
Don

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
I showed the difference between yours on Cowboy IBFX and my open on Cowboy IBFX on a 1 hour chart. The difference between the two will be negligible unless there is movement during the aud and nzd opens. In other words if price does not move during the aud/nzd session opens there will not be much of a difference between the two, whether pivots or daily open mainly because price action generally doesn't move much during the 3 or 4 hours to the jpy open session.disbellj wrote:Bob, you said:

I also showed what happens if price does move between those two sessions from USA close to JPY open which is the aud/nzd open session thereby creating a difference between your indicator and mine. This would have nothing to do with MBT or a 4H chart.
Why is this important to know?? Because the Open EA can be used with your indicators if price action has not moved during this time from USA close to JPY open. The readings are basically the same. If price has moved during this time then you cannot use my Open EA because the lines would be different. Again this would have nothing to do with the 4H or MBT.
The issue is can I still use the open EA with Don's lines instead of mine? Yes, you can use the EA if price does not move during this time period, the EA will still enter at the cross of the Open since they are still approximately at the same price. NO, if there is movement during this time period, then you can only use pending orders based on Don's lines. That is the point not 4H or MBT differences.
The 5.1 is different and can be used no matter where the pivot/open lines are because that EA is not based on pivots or opens but the entrance is solely based on a MA line. When and where you use that EA is based on your judgement and read of the pivot open lines. If open is below pivot I use the Sell EA and if Open is above pivot I use the buy EA. I hope this makes it all clearer.

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
The next step is the 10.3 universal update using Don's open and pivots based on the USA close. I have the following on the 30M and 1H template: Don's DO and DP chart along with the 5.1 MA line.
On the 4H chart I have the 10.2a using DWP pivots and 1MA open that we have been using in the past.
Included is the new Jump EA: it is set to jump 10 pips for every 6 pips price moves and then stop at +2. It works with the MPTM setting SL at -18 and TP @ +100
At +20 it will take half profit and let the rest ride until it hits +100, +2 or you close the trade.
To the trader who sets his MPTM at -30 you can reset the MPTM to -28 then to get to plus 2 takes three moves or leave it at 30 and it should stay at BE.
So when price crosses the 5.1 EA and enters a trade it sets magic number at 103. Both the MPTM and Jump EA are set to handle trades with a magic number of 103. All other trades are not managed by these EAs. Pending trades will not be controlled by these EAs
the 10.3 MPTM will set a SL of -18 and TP at +100
Then the Jump EA will:
At +6 it will set the SL to -8
At +12 it will set the SL to +2 and will not move after that
(if you want to change that setting you can)
At +20 it will take half profit (it is set at .10 lots so it will leave .05 lot left to run)
Make sure your broker can handle .05 lot size. The EA cannot read your lot size so always make sure your lot size and the EA orginal lot size are the same. you will also have to use even number sized lots.
The 4H 10.2a chart is the same as we have been using and does not offset the pivot and open to NY close like the 1H and 30M charts. However you can still get the UT, DT, Range reads like normal or trade the 10.2a system. The DO EA of the past will open trades at the white line of the 4H chart but the white line on the 1H could be different so it may not be the same line. Hopefully we will clear this up in the future.
The 1H pic is this post. 4H pic next post.
REMEMBER THIS IS STILL A TEST VERSION SO USE AT WHATEVER RISKS WE HAVENT DISCOVERED YET.

This is a 4H pic and the newest update. I will be using this screen starting Monday for all my 10.3 trades. I still am concerned about the RAM usage of Don's DO and DP. Hopefully we will be able to speed it up.

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
On my pic on MBT:
On left I show Bob's template before my change. The opens and pivots are set to 0 bar of the broker day, except adding sunday to monday, not effecting open of any other days. MBT happens to set its open bar at 00:00 Eastern.
On right, with the change to make opens and pivots and S/R to be aligned to 17:00 Eastern. I'd say there's a big difference. Not between GMT+2 00:00 (Forex day begin) vs GMT+0 00:00 bars ((GMT day begin) (2 hours difference), like Bob is talking about; but between GMT+2 00:00 (Forex day begin) vs GMT-5 00:00 (Eastern day begin) bars (7 hours).
But this is just ONE example. There are many other brokers with many other offsets. Some GMT+0, some GMT+2, some GMT-5, many others I don't even know. And we gotta make these agree with what we see, or we are talking different languages than them and even different between what you and I see, aren't we? I mean for you to even have to say "in this instance use this, and in this instance don't" shows what I say to be true.
Bob, hope this shows you its not about you, its not about me, its about every user. And if there was no difference, I would be glad to concede my point. But I do have a point that it seems you have not gotten yet. Hopefully I have cleared things up a bit for you, since my example did not use Cowboy IBFX on purpose. Your being tied to Cowboy IBFX and NOT trying other brokers is inhibiting this conversation, so I had to resort to showing a specific example of another broker that does not have as close a GMT offset to FXDD (our target) as Cowboy IBFX (just happens to be your broker, which just happens to be close to FXDD or you would be seeing my point days ago) does.
Kindest regards,
Don

Kindest regards,
Don
