....Thanks, again, friend, for the market wisdom you've shared with your non-friends! ;)

Haha, I was tired and bored until I read your post, and it has made me smile widely.

Likewise! :D Though I don't bore easily (the mark of a boring person? Probably... :D ).

I'm 13 years old mate, and here is how I work out the probability of that wild statement.

We cannot END aging, but just like Model T Fords can be restored indefinitely,

Good luck with that one! Do you really think they can survive the next asteriod impact? If so, I'm getting one for sure! ;)

far beyond what Henry Ford ever intended; we can remove aging damage and regenerate our body to then begin aging again.

Wasn't Henry the one that said, "Thinking is the hardest work of all, that's why so few people do it!" ? 8-)

My first Billion dollars

Paul Rotter, the notorious "Flipper" in the German bond markets, is generally known as the world's most successful trader, averaging $60 million a year for over a decade, and he still couldn't make it to a billion! But I certainly wouldn't rain on your parade! If that's your goal, I support it! Don't forget me in your will! ;)

is only being made to fund these guys http://www.sens.org/, more specifically Aubrey de Grey - tonnes of extremely clear videos about his Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence, SENS.

Well, if you're interested in that sort of thing, you might also check out this site:
http://www.revgenetics.com/
then you can get a jump on immortality right away! ;)

He will be fully funded next year.

Just in time for my 70th birthday! :D

I was 11 years old and standing under our clothes-line in the back yard when I was very clear about 2 things; one being that dying of old age is a stupid way to live, and that I'd need 400 years to understand and appreciate WTF is going on. I really do intend to travel off of this planet and just maybe be around long enough for some time travel too.

Yeah, I had that same dream, after I'd read a sci fi story about a man you was given the chance to live forever. I think I was 8 or 9. I thought I might become superman about that time, also! Or Peter Pan! :D

But as a child, and idealistic as you said, I dismissed all concerns about decades of decline into a miserable aging death in favor of believing that science would sort that nonsense out long before I would have to get involved. That's a whole long story I'll not be boring you with.

Thanks! I'll try to do the same for you! Oops, too late! :D

The issue is my maths to determine that I am currently 13 years old. Genetically I am lucky, and historically for the last 4 centuries that we know of, none of my family on both mother and father sides die before 100 years old (+ or - 4 years). We did lose a truckload in the 2 world wars, but I'm talking about death by aging.

So, I am 53; divide that by my expected age of 100, and you would say "Phil, you're bloody 53 mate, get over it". But I divide it by 400, and so I have just reached puberty and am 13 years old by my calculation.

Haha, so by MY calculation, yes your son is older than me :). Otherwise, he is younger than me.

Very clever! Very Zen-like, really, I must admit! :D

I have not studied Taoism nor Buddhism nor Zen as such. Sure I have read books to get the concepts clear as to these philosophies being very distinct, separate and distant from religious ideas and all that God stuff others go for.

LOL! You didn't watch the video, did you? :D

I studied Zen for many years and the anecdotes, many of which I found useful, are permanently etched into my consciousness, but the basic philosophy seems to have a built in contradiction:

"Those who know, do not say. Those who say, do not know." So, all the "masters" we hear from, don't know! :D

I had actually considered joining a monastary at one time. But when I took a hard look at what Zen monks really had to do, it was a revelation. Basically, they have to go study with a true master (and there is no way to know if you really have one) for a couple of decades, who says nothing, but hits them over the head frequently at unpredictable intervals with a bamboo stick. Oh, yeah, they have to beg for a living (not trade), and work at the monastary from 4:00am til midnight, 7 days a week, until, bam!, they might experience Satori, which...turns out... to be....well... nothing special.

I don't know about you, uh, but I already have "nothing special." :D

I sincerely don't believe Tao can be studied nor understood - it is too esoteric, and eclectic for my 13 years old brain to know. But I do know enough to relate to it.

As I understand it Taoism is a dualistic philosophy of a dualistic world. Its essentials are captured perfectly in the Grand Ultimate, my avatar. It does a good job of revealing the true nature of this plane of existence.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. When everything looks the blackest, the wheel is ready to change into its opposite. No matter how dark (or light) everything looks, there is always that little dot of the opposite that exists, and eventually turns the wheel of change. Sounds a lot like the market, doesn't it?

In trading it's a lot like "the cure for high commodities, is high commodities." And vice versa.

Sufis have another way of saying the same thing, "In the midst of death, life presists! In the midst of untruth, truth presists! In the midst of darkness, light presists!"

However, from the Tao Te Ching, Taoism clearly divides the world into the all-knowing wise men, in tune with the Tao, and fools (everybody else). The wise men are valuable and everyone else is basically, stupid and valueless. It's aimed at the emperor, to help him become one of the wise men. It was a contemporary competitor with Confucianism (the philosophy of Kung Fu Tse which was Anglicized into Confucius, a Greek derivation), a competition which it lost, incidentally.

In spite of its insight into the workings of the universe, it comes across as a judgmental, self-centered, self-justified, and arrogant philosophy that might tend to appeal to those who feel that their insight is much clearer than everyone else's! And maybe, it is, I don't know! Just my opinion, sounds a bit like an ego trip to me! It competed poorly with the family-, ancestors-, and society-centered philosophy of Kung Fu Tse! :D

Today we have the banksters, the elitists, the politicans, which are basically the modern cognoscenti, and the rest of us "muppets". They're the "wise men" and the rest of us are the fools! Geez, who can argue with that??? :D

So I simply contemplate it, and accept that I am simply an extension or node of this thing called life that I am part of; kind of like a nerve ending on my body having its own persona and sense of reality, yet not at all being separate from the total stuff of life. When the only reality is pleasure and pain, which have no memory at all, and death...haha, which funnily enough also has no memory :).

If we were just our bodies, death might be something to avoid. Maybe. But here is a case that refutes that argument pretty convincingly in "scientific" terms. 8-)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNbdUEqD ... re=related

On the other hand, if we are not just our bodies, why obsess on staying in this body eternally? Unless we have something to fear about being out of our bodies:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6va_5Wf ... re=related

"You can have heaven on earth, but it would be very expensive to build & maintain!" :D

Buddhism and Zen and all of their combined flavors are simple enough to appreciate; it all comes down to acceptance that we are not separate from the Universe, we are simply part of the same entity; a sensor of the universe. My only question about these Buddhism and Zen disciplines which are designed only to cause us to accept what I just said, even if it does take 30 years to "get it" is are we only a senor in this one universe;

The mind is eternally full of questions, but tends to look for the answers that are emotionally gratifying, "overfitting" the "data". Much like trading it can become a tail chasing exercise.

The "walk forward" data doesn't look so rosy, although there may be some good trading opportunities ahead, if we, and the markets survive (which is questionable.) To believe that we're going to escape unscathed from all the potential natural and man made disasters, especially in view of world and geologic history, requires a lot of faith. Faith in our own particular dream(s). And faith is "...evidence of things not seen..." not matter how you slice it! :D

The answers do not lie in the mind, anyway. It's just a tool, and dangerous to put in charge, because it can find (and manufacture) evidence for whatever is emotionally satisfying to believe. The answer lies somewhere else altogether. Fortunately, it's in an undisclosed location so that we'll have to look for it. Like success in trading! :D

and not invited to the multiverse party?

Oh well, I'm never offended by not getting an invitation! :D I don't know. I'm not that smart! Like, Schultzie on Hogan's Heroes, "I know nothing! Nooothing!"

My reference to Barefoot Taoist is of course a figurative one. It really means I am successfully not attached to concepts of nations are their politics, money and consumerism, and needs to be respected at all, and nor foolishness like love. Love is nothing more than a chemically induce state of mind that fools us into not seeing what's really going on inside the one we love. All a big yawn for me.

:D You didn't watch the video, did you? LOL

Friends ARE a gift we do give to ourselves. I simply never turn my back on them.

You got that right, Brother! So is forgiveness!

The many animals I adopt over the years as kittens or puppies in need; they can scrath and bite my bare feet, they cannot ever double tap the back of my scone.

I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds nice! My two pugs, who are waiting for me somewhere, taught me every important lesson life has to offer by providing me with the purest form of Love possible! ;)

Seriously is movie time for me here

Enjoy! Kung Fu Hustle is my favorite!

Enjoy your day JoaoF, mine will be continuing in my drwams

Same to you, Brother! Sweet drwams!

The rant post was more a case of Phil being legless drunk actually. I had to write it twice because I accidentally kicked out the power cord on the computer when I was getting my last beer.

  Yup, been there, done that too... (that's one clue when to make it the last beer) :D :D

Hi Bob, It seems you have send a request to Baluda to integrate DO to his DWM indi. Is it correct ?
Do you think that it would be practical to have a dashboard reflecting all the pairs with different columns indicating their cross status, DO/DP positionning, which DS/RS was touched etc...
You can see the new version does some of the work of the dashboard. Each pair you can look at the color code and see what the trade decision should be. Now to put that info in one place would be nice. So far I have not relied on dashboards, I like studying my charts every day for myself. So this is the closest thing to it. The problem I see is this is still in its dynamic stage. You are seeing how I develop a system and take months to perfect it. So whatever dashboard is made may not equal the final product. I do think most of the trading rules are forming and being put into place. It is more now of finalizing the product.

I dont mind discussions off topic once in a while but very few people are posting trades lately. I wish we would do more of that while we had these discussions. Phil is kind of a breath of fresh air with his unique observations, especially how he has adapted 10.3. I usually quit trading in a couple of weeks but we will see how 10.3 works during the holidays. All my other trading systems never did that well during this time. Maybe this will work in a dead trading time.

Been having some terrible results the last 2 weeks opening at GMT midnight, setting SL to DP and TP to S/R 1/2... I'm learning (as most traders would probably know already) that JPY tends to do the opposite, then when Frankfurt/London opens it reverses.

Case in point: I gave up on the JPY open trades 2 days ago, I was down 10% of my account. Today I'm up 5% - and that was with some very poor entries. I thought the BUY EA waited for a touch/cross of the DO if the price was already above, but it just enters immediately. So I'd bought right at some of the S/R levels and so I'm quite pleased to be up after those entries.

Oh and there was another trade I missed putting a SL on that hit -65 pips before I saw it...

I might try setting Steve's EA on the charts instead of the BUY EA

Be great to see some overall results of other people from the last few weeks?

A Hi Phil

Yes it’s fine because you would come under the banner of a Chinese resident if you are living there. If you moved back to the USA you would then need to open an account with our US office which can only abide by the US leverage restrictions(ie max 50:1).

Hope that makes sense.
