Because of daylight savings time I am teaching during the time I would normally set trades for the jpy session. So I only trade USA and JPY sessions. This week I am 20-4 aver profit 17 pips average loss 13 pips. That is 340 - 52 = 288 pips for the week. I am finding that the closer to the open I set my trades the less chance I have of trades just entering and then back up to hit the full SL. If price moves and enters it will kick up that SL into profit territory most of the time and very few will just enter and reverse to the full SL. I also use the 5.1 EA, break the trendline, more than the daily open EA, so this is giving better entrances. I think the color coding will help in determining the better trades. I also notice that some of the bigger trades are when the DO and DP lines are close together. There is more room for profit on those. Anyway 930 am and going to go bike riding for the day. I basically have two times to set trades in China. One is about 3:30PM (euro open) and the other around 9:30 PM (USA Open). I set up my EA for entrances, Steve's MPTM for SL and Profit, the jump EA and then let it run. I check two or three hours later and take my profits or decide to let it ride. I am also beginning to close trades that arent going anywhere which has led to my impressive win loss ratio but that is because if they are sitting at +2 or +5 or a small loss after a couple of hours I will just close them out. I also will shut down all my pending orders if they arent taken by the time I go to bed which is 10pm to midnight. Then when I get to the next session I can just set up and trade again.jeremysprite wrote:Been having some terrible results the last 2 weeks opening at GMT midnight, setting SL to DP and TP to S/R 1/2... I'm learning (as most traders would probably know already) that JPY tends to do the opposite, then when Frankfurt/London opens it reverses.
Case in point: I gave up on the JPY open trades 2 days ago, I was down 10% of my account. Today I'm up 5% - and that was with some very poor entries. I thought the BUY EA waited for a touch/cross of the DO if the price was already above, but it just enters immediately. So I'd bought right at some of the S/R levels and so I'm quite pleased to be up after those entries.
Oh and there was another trade I missed putting a SL on that hit -65 pips before I saw it...
I might try setting Steve's EA on the charts instead of the BUY EA
Be great to see some overall results of other people from the last few weeks?
Even though I liked Don's work, he has taken his football and gone home. His indicator uses too much RAM and I cant flip TF quickly. Baluda's you can switch TF easily. Sorry Phil I am a 4H trader at heart.
