You can change to colors you can see or maybe ask Baluda to add dots, horizontal and vertical lines??

I'm guessing that changing these lines

Code: Select all

  if ( showOrderBackground )
         {
            color colorOrder = Gray;// CAUTION NO TRADE AT THIS TIME
            // ALL SELLS MUST HAVE DP > DO and red color
            if ( MP > WP && WP > DP && DP > DO && DO > P ) colorOrder = Maroon;  //sell strong done
            if ( MP < WP && WP > DP && DP > DO && DO > P ) colorOrder = Maroon;  //sell strong done
            if ( MP > WP && WP > DP && DP > DO && P > DO ) colorOrder = Red;   //sell strong
            if ( MP < WP && WP > DP && DP > DO && P > DO ) colorOrder = Red;   //sell strong
            // Range Sells
            if ( MP > WP && DP > WP && DP < MP && DP > DO ) colorOrder = Orange; //sell Range
            if ( MP < WP && DP < WP && DP > MP && DP > DO ) colorOrder = Orange; //sell Range
            // ALL BUYS MUST HAVE DP < DO
            if ( MP > WP && WP < DP && DP < DO && DO < P ) colorOrder = DarkGreen;  //buy strong done
            if ( MP < WP && WP < DP && DP < DO && DO < P ) colorOrder = DarkGreen;  //buy strong done
            if ( MP > WP && WP < DP && DP < DO && P < DO ) colorOrder = Green;    //buy strong done
            if ( MP < WP && WP < DP && DP < DO && P < DO ) colorOrder = Green;    //buy strong done
            //  Range Buys
            if ( MP < WP && DP < WP && DP > MP && DP < DO ) colorOrder = Teal; //buy Range
            if ( MP > WP && DP > WP && DP < MP && DP < DO ) colorOrder = Teal; //buy Range

            //OR SYMBOL ||
            int cellWidth = 120;
            if ( showSRInOrder ) cellWidth = 135;
            drawCell( 0, "orderBackground", 3, 10, 9, cellWidth, 20, colorOrder );
         }

to colors less similar to each other will do the job.

Edit: if only adding text messages (strong buy, range buy, etc) would be as easy as changing color.

I need confirmation that the thing really works first. I think I got all the coding errors right but we will see.

I've been testing a few different things for the last couple of days...

1. Don't use a a stop loss
Tues - Thurs I had mptm set BE @ 20 pips, JS 20 and TP 50% of Daily Volatility Pips. Results so far are 28 Trades, closed 20 trades for 511 pips (approx 5% equity increase), closed 4 trades at BE, closed 1 trade for loss -30 pips & 3 trades still open with floating drawdown of 280 pips (270 pips is eurnzd)
I did have mptm set up to hedge (not Phil's set), but hedge wasn't taken or this trade would have closed at BE+10...so my dilemma is now whether to wait it out or just close out for the end of the week?
I also let trades run overnight and any trades not closed but in profit I manually closed before the new Daily open.

Moving forward, Fri (today) I have added Phil's mptm & setfile to place a hedge @ -30pips to see if that is a better option for delinquent trades ;)

2. Checking H4 & D1 slope against DO/DP
Either H4 or D1 slope has to be in the direction indicated by DO/DP, also if slope is between +20 & -20 no trade.
There have also been occasions where both H4 & D1 slope have been opposite of the DO/DP signal & I have started to take some counter trades from the DP line just to the first level of S/R with success as well.

Still plenty of testing & learning to be done, but looking very good so far

No i have that. I guess i was assuming (maybe wrongly) that some people trade limit entries somehow on the trades that havent retraced for good setups back over the DO. Thanks for answering though. I guess the question is do the successful people trading this mostly only take the trades that have not crossed the DO before EURO/London.
I take all my trades a few minutes after London open.. I'd say 70% of the time I set pending orders for pairs that have retraced during asia session and and now continuing back on their way to the DO, but if I see a trade that has already passed the DO I may still take it. If I see at least 20pips to the nearest DS1/DR1 I take it and have been very successful doing so.

Bob, I'm sus about what the EUR:CHY, reports; the Resistance levels show only 3-4 pips between each level, with support levels... perhaps is accurate because yesterday was so flat?
Phil, if you mean EURCHF, the average daily range on this pair is less than 20 pips.

It's not really a tradable instrument while the SNB's peg to the Euro is in force.

Do you have any idea why the hedge didn't open? While I talk setting the hedge at "original trade -30", in the hedge settings of MPTM it goes in as a positive number; could you have entered a negative number?

Trade Managing our trouble trades I think is what defines great traders operating under pressure.

When I see opportunities to manually 200% hedge retracements away from my original sad/bad trade I find I can quickly hack into the loss, closing those 4-15 minute hedge scalps to ratchet my way back to the original trade entry.

But why MPTM didn't fire your hedge is of great concern.

Also, when you say 4 trades closed at BE; that was not BE + an pips profit for the hassle?

Phil
No I entered in 30 for the hedge, I just meant it would trigger when the first trade reached -30.

I'm not sure why the hedge didn't take, it could be the version of mptm I was using...tonight I loaded the version you posted and it took a hedge trade correctly :?

Again with the BE, I actually had it set to BE+2, but again mptm closed it at BE +0. I have now discarded using that version of mptm and will use the one you posted to see if it works correctly.

I do not trade the eur/chf because of the swiss peg to the euro. It wont move very much right now. Then again if you want to play 100 bucks a pips and play for 3-5 pips it is the perfect pair. I use the eur/chf as my info page and for the universal EAs like the jump EA and MPTM.

I also need to know if there are any irregularities in the DWMP 10.3 My wife and I are about to go out tonight so may not make any USA open trades.
