The nail hit perfectly on the head.
Spewing out code on half-baked 'systems' leads to nothing but mistrust, distrust and margin calls.

I count pips because that is relevant to everyone. I can come say I made $150k in 3 weeks and it will sound amazing... but that could be on a 500k account or a 100k account. If I say the amount of pips that can be translated by anyone however they want to depending on what lot sizes they trade.dancingphil wrote:There are a few ways to look at this POH.POH wrote:So true... I made 1500+pips in the 2-3weeks I used it on demo with a very good win/lose ratio. My first question is why are you trading PIPS and not DOLLARS
The inflection point for all directions is to see a change....the stuff that MUST happen when stuff goes the other way.
Learn to see inflection points. Life is NOT 2D. It is a 3D world; 4D if you count time.

They were with us at FF so they are a known commodity. So be kind.dancingphil wrote:Bob, for an American, you are a gentle man, and a gentleman.nanningbob wrote:I think this is silly. I have experienced more winning trades than losing trades every week, including the ones with the jump EA quickly closing the gap on my losses. This has lead to having my wins average always larger than my loss averages. Then I have more winners than losers. Yes I have days in which I have more losers than winners but staying within the system it works.ratttyo wrote:The way I read this method is it works fine when the markets are trending each day bullish or bearish making new lows or highs each day but as soon as you get a change in trend or range play whipsawing this will smash your account to pieces.
Second this was designed to work in ranging markets because trending markets have been very hard to come by the last couple of months so I dont know where you got the trending idea from. I had a field day today taking the JPY crosses and following them as they have retraced across the board. Yes they were grey boxes discretionary trades but ended up nice trades. I scored on the eur/jpy, nzd/jpy, and aud/jpy. 10.3 all by itself has worked very nicely for me. Each one score 25-50 pips, so 5-1 for the day and up 117 pips.
I am far from either.
Some twit who joins Steve's site 3 weeks ago and with 2 posts to his "credit" with not a positive word to be said is just that; a twit.
My son told me off for telling the twit to piss off; and my son was right. The twit should have just been ignored.

And that is mine. Looks a bit different cause of the times...Baluda wrote: Very much ON topic...
Today i took just one trade (short on gbpusd) and took my 15pips for 106.16€ with 1.5 lot size.
Yesterday was worse. But that was totally my fault cause i was impatient. I should study some zen philosophy!

Phil is right in that increase in account is the only thing that matters, however, if I say I increased my account 1% on the eur/jpy today, that doesnt relate to how the trade went. If I say I pocketed 47 pips today taking the cross on the daily open because it was below the green daily pivot. Everyone understands that trade. It is the only way to communicate a trade so a person understands what is happening.
The indicator is calling for a buy day but the lines said sell so I go with the sell. Brand new indicator needs some bug testing. There is no substitute for doing your home work before taking a trade.

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
Hi all, I hope any one can help, I wish to look at incorporating the CT strategy as per Dancingwithphil, but wish to add the trigger for this when
a) Price has gone past the fib 3 level
then use the 10.3 5.1 x 1 to get in on the CT trade
I looked at the 2 ea 5.1 x 1 buy and sell and thought i would modify them to 1 buy and sell ea
I looked at the code and saw this
Var1 = iMA(NULL, 0, 5, 1, MODE_LWMA, PRICE_OPEN, 0);
Var2 = iMA(NULL, 0, 1, 0, MODE_LWMA, PRICE_MEDIAN, 0);
RefreshRates();
if(Bid < Var1 && Var2 > Var1 )
I can't see how this can trigger a sell trade.
Any help please

I use the one in Empty4. Go to File in the upper left hand corner and then use Save Picture As. You then can save it to desktop and post it on the forum. Empty4 has all the things you need to add points to the screen.dancingphil wrote:nanningbob wrote:Phil is right in that increase in account is the only thing that matters, however, if I say I increased my account 1% on the eur/jpy today, that doesnt relate to how the trade went. Bob,
What image application are you using.?
I have been so "put off" showing pics of my trades because I don't have anything more clever than "paint"; which is Microsoft's idea of what dogs have done on the back lawn after 2 weeks in the sun.
Your point is very clear.

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
I stayed with the basic 10.3 trades and didnt do anything fancy. Took the JPY and EUR sells as shown by the DO below the DP. Some I took twice when they bounced back.
6 jpy -- trades 2 ej and 2 nzd/jpy-- 4 eur trades-- 1 gbp/cad on one of its rebounds and on losing trade for a 12-1 day and an average profit of 21 pips. Total 225 pips in one day. I stayed with my formula of placing my trades as close to the euro and usa open and I took some trades at the jpy open.
I am beginning to formulate a strategy of doing aud or jpy trades at jpy session when I can. eur, gbp, chf at the euro and then see whats left at the usa open. The closer I place my trades to the openings the fewer backups I am getting that hit the SL. I am not waiting to within 30 minutes of the openings before placing the trades. Anyway tomorrow I leave for an out of town trip to a village for a teaching assignment. I probably wont do any trades thurs or fri. but maybe i will get some internet access. Dont know. If not I will check back in the morning and then see you Sunday. Good luck.
