EA's opening positions at wrong places.

Not on my machine it isn't, either in visual backtesting or on demo.

V 1a is in post 1. I coded it late last night because I was bored and wanted something uncomplicated to do, so there were a few whiskey-inspired bloops. I have fixed them.

I read all the thread of The7 in FF.

I've 2 comments about your EA:
1- Slope indicator is not used by The7. In my opinion, is not a good filter for this strategy. I suggest that you leave it as an option in the EA.

2- The7 says, "If the signal candle has a wick towards the direction of the trade, try to avoid the entry. If there are long wicks on both sides the candle, avoid the entry.It shows uncertainty. The only wick we want to see is a pinbar"

Quick update on this EA - appreciate every one's comments about the system, but thought an update was warranted as Steve did take the time to code it for me.

The first demo's platform froze on Nov 2 - the stats up until then are in the attached pic. It had made 2.29% on a 3K balance.

The current demo started Nov 5 so I started that with an opening balance of $3K + $70 being closed profits of first demo. This hasn't had a lot of trades but has still made a 2.38% gain. At this stage I am still using, at times, a bit of discretion for exits. I will continue to test this EA even though more experienced traders and tests show it may not be a good one, but perhaps along the way I may find an extra filter or something, early days, but so far so good.

Entries and SL are exactly per the rules. TP based on BreakEvenTargetPips=20, BreakEvenTargetProfit=5, and HalfCloseEnabled=true.

The EA is fine until it doesn't stop out like it's supposed to. Had two trades yesterday that didn't close out per the manual system rules. Glad I'm demo.

I usually don't post duplicate EA's in other coders' threads, especially yours, Steve. Although this is generally considered a hijacking, something tells me you won't mind so much here.

A few notes:

OrderIncludeTPSL input is similar to Steve's CriminalisECN input, only here it's false for ECN or true for dealing desk.

Always-in-the-market by default. Up to you to set stops.

Enters based on D1 Open and Close in relation to respective EMA.

Closes trades on opposite trade entry by default (Hedge defaults to false).

Attempts to avoid negative pinbar entries by requiring the wick opposite the entry direction is longer than the wick toward the entry direction.

The EA has not been tested. It simply compiled without errors. I've yet to see a comprehensive set of entry and exit conditions in this thread, so this is all based on what I gathered at FF. Someone, please feel free to post these in a concise format.

Thanks RJo, I will set your ea up on some charts...I'm actually pretty keen on this strategy, and finding Steve's EA doesn't seem to take all trades or close properly at times.

I've actually been trying to code my own version (for my first ever attempt at coding) without success yet...but still trying. Anyway baby steps

No worries--it's a strange input. B_Symbol_LS_0 for buy, and S_Symbol_LS_0 for sell. Then you have your standard TP, SL, and Trailing Stop in pips.[/quote]


Ok, figured that out just before you posted, but put lot size in all those Symbol inputs lol. I understand now.

I've started to put the EA on my charts and it took a trade immediately and still 2 hrs away from daily open. Also an error popped up saying there was an error that would affect the trade logic...not sure that was because I put the lot size in all the Symbol inputs (now fixed) or if this is an error due to opening the trade at the wrong time?

Thanks for the info RJo - those trades opened here as well, 1.6007 and 1.0442. Still open in small d/d. Neither of those 2 did trade on The7 though will keep comparing

Hi RJo - so do you have already any trading results documented by a myfxbook acc for a longer time ... or isn't the bot so far bugfree and you are improving it, that means you have to fix the code furthermore ?
