I used X-Meter Fury set file from JLC Garcia on Alpari UK, version is 2.12
https://www.myfxbook.com/portfolio/Empty4- ... 212/429325

On the plus side, this months demos that have done well are the original beast, scoobs forex robot and big mac n fries which did awesome until the Cowboy Go Markets account demo expired

Re: What's cuzgeorge demo testing?
Bodleytunes,
that account looks frighteningly real.
Anyway,
look at the amount, you would need no less than $5k for an EA like this and using JL's settings. I trust you have noticed that JL is extremely conservative and very carefull with his risk. On the other hand, i'm a bit of a cowboy with respect to parameters. If you watch this space, i will post this week end on the entire portfolio i'm setting up and will post in the relevant ea's thread also. I will be posting a 'medium' setting version and an 'extreme' version. JL's will be the conservative xmeter version, but i'm sure he can ramp it up too.
Remember it uses a form of Martingale and Grid trading. Both are regarded as dangerous seperately on their own, but Xmeter uses both. I urge you to reset this account with 5K or 10K and let her run. I can see from the results that the account was set up correctly with 0.01 lot sizes and the positions taken were similar. Look at my demos and you'll see similar trades in the account history.
hope this helps.
please dont go live on this until you fully understand this EA and can trade your self out of trouble manually, or if you understand how the EA works, you can trade alongside it and seriously build an account, or break it if you overtrade yourself. The latter being what i have done on my real accounts BEFORE i ran into these versions with JL's fixes. i'm trying to follow my demo accounts right now to 'see' a trade to get myself out of the DD i got myself in with these real accounts. Then my versions are going live. Please read the xmeter thread for a detailed idea of how it has grown and you'll see the steps that were taken and what was added. If you have , please allow the link below for others to follow.

Hi Bodleytunes, all, bodleytunes wrote:I used X-Meter Fury set file from JLC Garcia on Alpari UK, version is 2.12
I am very unhappy at your results with Xmeter. And although this is CuzGeorge's thread I want to say something I think it is important, because something must be remembered.
This post is about my personal feelings about trading. Be warned that not anyone would agree.
First, I must say that I will not post never my real accounts 'sets', not only because I am changing some parameters of these 'sets' daily and even hourly, but also because trading implies decisions that cannot be fixed forever: when to exit, double, not trade a position; when to stop ; what news are for your pairs at the moment; your aversion to risk, your capital, etc. These feelings change daily and you must adjust your mental 'sets' daily. In that aspect I am in a 20 % a discretionary trader.
Second, I must say that trading is a risky business. I know because I am trading for a living. More on that later.
But before continuing I want to say something that is driving me mad: If you are trading live with only 1.000 € and you are not using microlots, please stop. Do not trade. Whatever your system is. With 1.000 €, in Xmeter or whatever expert, an initial position of 0,01 ( not NanoAccount) and a martingaling large than 1 and without stop losses is devastating. You can use hedge. But with only 1.000 € hedging is of not use. What you must do is open a demo account of 20.000 € or even 50.000 € and think that this amount is your real capital. How do you feel risking this capital? With that amount, what is your desired risk/return? Be serious.
Third, you must know to use your expert (Xmeter or other expert) as a second skin. You must master your robot to the extreme of knowing in advance what positions will be opening or closing in a certain moment and why.
Now my experience with robots:
1. I have traded forex discretionary for more than three years with poor results. Till I found my personal robot. If you put the effort and time to think about the way the market moves and you adjust (or create) your robot to operate acording to the market, you will make it profitable. I say this because I trade for a living and I must say that I only use one robot.
2. I am an scalper. I remain in the market with open positions briefly, and my way of trading is not compatible with hedging. If you hedge your positions your will be tied to the market for days, and during these days you will not control your trading, you will not earn any money and you will be at the mercy of the market. Scalping is not easy, but you need to do your homework.
3. According to this, apart from trading Xmeter in a very conservative way, I trade live the robot ForYourEyesOnly (which is a martingaling robot but also it has stop losses).
Regards
José Luis

José Luis, is ForYourEyesOnly a publicly-available EA? I can't find any reference to it.

Hi garifritz,
No, I'm sorry that ForYourEyesOnly is not a publicly-available EA. It's the result of three years of programming and experimenting with currencies, martingales, averaging and stop losses.

Re: What's cuzgeorge demo testing?
Just to add I've only been trading demo accounts, never done anything live yet
I will try some more x-meter settings and read up on the thread.
the reason I never start with more than 1000 pounds in a demo is because I wouldn't dare use more than 1000 in any one single account at the moment, (wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket so to speak).
Cheers,
Jon.

Re: What's cuzgeorge demo testing?
Anyone got any set files which would work okay for a 1000 GBP demo account?
Also anyone recommend any decent Criminals that have unlimited demo accounts? Using FXCM and Alpari at the moment, also used Cowboy Go Markets, but the 30 day kicked in and means I have to start a fresh, pointless as strategies need longer than a month to be proven as "safe" for live trades.
Cheers,
Jon.
