can i just say one thing to all who have supported and helped alpenkorps through this difficult time.

Take a moment to really think what has happen here. most of us dont know alpenkorps in person, just from reading his post here and messaging with him, yet people from different countries, race, gender and religion saw a person in need and instantly knew what was the right thing to do.

with all that is going on in this world, it truely warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes to see that there are still good people that do what is right.

Dear friend, I know that you guys will help me as long as you can. But I don't want to receive more than what is really needed.

The operation fee I have paid includes all type of medicine as long as she stays there and maximum 5 days post operation care. I had to pay extra for additional blood and oxigene cylinders. I had no idea that type O negative blood is the most expensive blood out there and also very rare. I am really grateful that I had some extra cash with me. It looks like, a complete operation package that the hospital offered is not that complete.

My mom is not facing any post operation complication yet, but there is always a chance. Considering the fact that, the operation was already too late, a few complications won't be a surprise. Plus there is the infection problem. Sgt. Forex will wire the rest of the donations to me, and with that, I should be able to keep her at the hospital at least a month. Its enough time for the stitches to dry, and if any complications rises, she will get the best care in the country.

I am in knee deep debt to all of you. Its not only the money, all the prayers you have done for her, everyone, I honestly believe that my moms safe operation wont happen without it. I am deeply deeply grateful. I really do not need more money, but please keep her in your prayers.

I have another great news, Today the IT firm contacted me where I applied for the position of assistant web designer, I'll join them from the next month. Its a good job, mostly maintenance and update work, cms based web development etc. Easy work, good salary (200 USD per month). I still need to learn asp.net properly, which I will. I am a quick learner.

I have just arrived home from hospital. Right now, I am cleaning my home with liquid antiseptic, I had no idea that its such a hard work. How did my mom managed to do this all these years!

If that's the right thing to do, then I'm glad we were able to support you to do the right thing.

But something to consider: hospitals are full of sick people. It's very common (at least in the US) to get antibiotic-resistant infections FROM the hospital. Your home might be a better place for her than the hospital?

I agree with garyfritz and the others here on this post. your mother best chance for a healthy recovery is to avoid all unnecessary risk. this means no other than absolute necessary people are to be around her, and personal hygiene is crucial!

What gary probably is thinking of is MRSA, methillin resistent stapholoccus aureus, a "superbug" that is resistent to almost all know form of antibiotics. this is usually aquired at hospitals, so make sure every safety procedure is followed to the letter. question every doctor and nurse about their routines for washing, sterilizing and handling of equipment and themselves, you can never be too careful.

not trying to scare you, i believe knowing the risk are the first step in controlling it.

ask doctors or healthcare personell on how to set up a clean room in your house and when your mother is healthy enough, talk about bringing her home where you can control what and who visits her.

MRSA is one of them, but hospitals are breeding grounds for nasty bugs. There are tons of sick people there so there are lots of bacteria to start with. Then you've got continuous use of antibiotics in the hospital, so the bugs are forced to evolve. Only the strong survive, so you're left with a bunch of strong and resistant bacteria. Not a good situation.

Ok now you guys are scaring me! Gary Thanks a lot for bringing up the point. I was kind of sure that the hospital would be the safest place.

The hospital I am talking about is the Square Hospital, its the best private hospital in country. I am told that the medical care they provide is of international level. My mom has a separate cabin, a janitor cleans the room once every morning and a nurse changes the bed sheet twice a day. Its pretty neat and clean on open sight! Tomorrow I'll talk with the ward supervisor about this.

On home, I don't know how long I can keep it clean and germ - free. Now I am really confused. Today is the last day of her stay as a part of the operation. From tomorrow, I'll have to pay extra cabin fare. I'll talk with the docs about this.
