Can anybody give me some advise, how to test execution time for the criminal :
Supposedly my criminal EUR/USD execution time was 234ms and also positive slippage, how I can test it myself? I know I win some time if I rent a vps in London next to my criminal server, then I can run my EA there

I have oanda Empty4 at home with a ea running.Sometimes the conection fails,or the computer or the power,etc.
So i install the Empty4 with the same account in the office and i try to make it run but the smile on the face on the upper right corner has the smile upside down.

Does it mean it is not working?

Is it because cannot be run in diferent computers?

Hey guys, I am fairly new to writing EA's and have been using Molanis Strategy and Indicator builders to play around.... Molanis has been good for me as a beginner but it has it's limitations.

What I was wondering is if it is possible to code a stop loss as a % of price. So if for example AUD/USD is trading at parity and I want a 1% stop loss it will create a 100 pip stop? If it is trading at 1.10 the stop loss will be 110 pips.

a) What does the magic number actually enable me to do. I was thinking it might enable me to run a second instance of the same bot on my broker's platform, using a second account. Is this correct? Or is the magic number reserved for the next week's operation ... or ... :

Currently I am running 2 platforms (same broker) and a single instance of the bot on each.
And I am running another broker with similar setup.

b) If I have a single platform, can I run different EA's on different account numbers on that platform, or do I need to run one EA per platform?

c) If I switch between accounts on a single platform, does this interfere with the operation of the bot as far as opening and closing trades goes? I ask because I have a couple of EA's to trial, and already have DMBReal running on 2 different broker platforms.

I could simply do all of the above and find out the results ... except I am in the middle of a trial of DMBReal and dare not turn off my computer until the weekend (as far as I know).

If any obliging soul feels it is their life's purpose to enlighten an illiterate wannabe EA trader, then here is your opportunity to perform a classic enlightenment!

Clearly I need to get a grip on EA's, and to this end I am already reading to capacity every day.

Yes, if the bot is well programmed Magic number help grouping trades. But, if your bot use for example, a simple value to close all trade if equity reach a certain value...what do to with trades magic N°1 and trades Number 2. Bot must have been write with a good magic number concept.

No, EA run on a single graph but you can only run one account in an Empty4

Adding to Phil, EA must be smartly coded to handle it's own M# trades. One instance of the platform, you can run as many ea's as the comp can handle. on one chart you can have only one ea. wanting to run another M# for the same ea means you are want to try with a different setting. Thus the same bot can have 20 instance of the same ea, all with different #' and settings running of a single a/c in one instance of the brokers platform.

if you change the a/c no in the platform, there is a setting in Empty4 tool's i think which will pause any automation activity on the platform if that happens.
you can have 20 different a/c in a single broker platform but can use only one at a time in one instance of the platform (platform naturally means broker platform)

EG : i want to run 8 ea's of Real on GP and 6 of Real on FXCM. lets presume for a moment that there are no margin call issue cause of the DD' and we have fixed lots of 0.01 for all 14 instances.

1. Open GP, create a/c, open 8 charts, load ea one by one on each, assign #' & settings differently for each. done.
2.same for fxcm (using a second broker either to cross check broker difference in performance or want more settings on diff broker) .

now if there are margin stuff to take care of then
1. Open GP one instance, a/c #1, check how many ea's can accommodate, say 3 per a/c. Fine, set 3 bots up. Done.
2. Open another instance, use or create a/c 2. Do as above 1.
3. Open another if needed (3 + 3 + 2 = 8, done for GP)
4. Same with FXCM - 2 instance is enough.

Week has nothing to do with it unless you want to start a fresh bot with different setting & #'s and discontinue the old.
