I would be happy with an alert. Or at least an MQ4 version. It's incredible, but it seems that from all the TMA TrueSlope indicators that we have, all of them are in compiled format!

This is not true. Baludas Indicators are all in mq4 format (see his thread) and he also has TMA MTF version. This is a good base to crank up you own version since baluda also has almost all essesntial parameters in his Indicator (only atrPeriod and tmaPeriod is missing as far as I know.)

Not sure if anyone has been following the thread(s) on FF re. OBV - basically gg53 over there has been suggesting that the basic OBV formula is flawed as it the move of the indicator is not proportional to the actual move in price. So (from my limited understanding) the OBV indi uses the full volume of the bar move even if the price move was only +1 pip for example. So what you get is a slightly distorted view. What he is suggesting is using something like:

Proportional Logic:
Calculate only the actual part that moves within that bar, i.e
OPEN/CLOSE vs. HIGH/LOW.

Formula? Ok...

(Close-Open) / (High-Low) [Bullish bar]
(Open-Close) / (High-Low) [Bearish bar]

Multiply the result by Volume - and you get proportional volume.

From what I can see on the FF threads the change certainly seems to make for a better OBV indi.

I have only just found this thread but I thought it might improve the result of this TMA OBV indi - or certainly be worth checking out?

You're right!

I knew that Baluda's indicators were in MQ4 format, but I really hadn't notice that "TMA Slope MTF" and "TMA True Slope" were able to give the same result. Maybe because the "TMA True Slope" has all the fancy colours and the other one only has this curve that doesn't change colour depending on the value, but yes, the curve is the same as the "TMA True Slope" bars as long as the timeframe is the same.

Also... I didn't give "TMA Slope MTF" much attention because I thought it was some variation of the other ones with a joke or a test... as MTF reminded me of MoTherF**ker... LOL! Sorry, that's what gives being a non-native English speaker.. you reinterpret lots of things if you have a distorted mind!

Anyway... thanks for pointing that out! Will try to add some alert to that thing... It will probably bug the hell out of me, because it will surely keep beeping instead of just beeping once. Need to remember some programming skills...

Neo - would it be possible to limit the bars for the indicator please as it is chewing up a bit quite a bit of resources I think. Maybe just restrict it to 500 bars or something as that should be plenty?

Not sure if you've check the OBV thread recently but wondering if you can add sidespots request regarding limiting the number of bars

I've also been following the 'Killing Zone' thread over at Forex Factory and using some go gg's indicators in my setup...

I was wondering if the OBV calculation could be improved as gg mentions in the thread:
