Dear Client,
Based upon the results of our Customer Satisfaction Survey, FinFX will change the time zone of the Helsinki server to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+0) / Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+00:00) over the weekend of February 9th - February 10th 2013.
The change will have an impact on the following trading accounts: (...)
Please note that this might require you to adjust your Expert Advisors or Indicators to the new time zone. Switching the server’s time zone to GMT+0 also means that the daylight saving time (DST) will not be used anymore.

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
Hi, guys, now that I've finally found NB again, my broker FinFX decides to change their hours, they say based on a customer survey I didn't bother to take. Doubt that my 1 vote would have made a difference. Don't know if this means I will have to deal with Sunday bars again or they will open 2 hours later or something.KevinT wrote:GMT+2, not the onlyJemook wrote:I'm wondering why they would do this move as well. No Problem,
If Finfx want to Play Games then we can All Simply close our Demo and Live Accounts with them and move our Finances somewhere else, The Customer is King in this Business and Not the Criminal anymore, since they have signified their Intention we have a Choice to not Do Business with them.
Alternative is simply use Global Prime.

You have an Option, Keep your Hard Earned Money FAR AWAY from Finfx, it is Not BY FORCE that You must USE them to trade FX or whatever Instruments. Play Smart and Don't be a Looser, a fool and his Money are soon Parted by the likes of Finfx :!: Take Your Time and Look Very Hard for An Alternative Criminal.
I cannot Warn or Advise you any further, if you won't Listen then you will feel the loss via your Live Account.

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
You say I won't listen but you do not tell me any options. I am a US citizen and prevented from having an account with most (all?) offshore brokers that do not have the same stupid restrictions enforced by the BS US rulings. If you have some suggestions, please offer them but do not tell me I am not listening if all you say is "do not trade with them". I do not know of any other (US?) brokers that will allow me to open a D1 trade and while it is open, daytrade on the M15 without having to close the D1 trade first. I have read some posts talking about offshore entities but seems to require knowing someone there (that you trust) first. Any help appreciated.xrismak wrote:ericjschroeder wrote:That is not an option for US citizens (victims)

P.S. I have not had any bad experiences yet with FinFX but due to my bad trading have not made any profits, not due to anything they have done.

Subject: Switching the server’s time zone to GMT+0
From FinFX Customer Service To KevinT@ymail.com
Dear Kevin,
We received a lot of requests to change the server times to be the same across all the servers and with GMT-0 time we don’t have to follow DST which has always caused a lot of confusion for our clients.
Yours Sincerely,

Mik,
What is ADX+ above ADX-, can you load indicator & what TF & Stoch settings are you using.
Winning is never off topic.
Thanks

I put together an EA to use the TMA slope norm together with stochastic and ADX+/- filters and just netted $160 on a 0.01 lot size from all the usual pairs in 10.2/10.3. If anyone's interested do a visual backtest using the TMA Slope Norm goes above 0.8, ADX+ above ADX-, and stochastic above signal and 50. Exit when ADX+ crosses below ADX-, and TMA Slope norm drops back below 0.8. Opposite for shorts. Sorry if off topic, won't mention it again, just for the curious.
EDIT: Sorry for misleading, it's gonna be difficult to do a visual backtest, because the TMA Slope Norm repaints old data, so I guess the proof is in the forward testing. Alternatively use the TMA True which I think doesn't repaint. Sorry again.

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
Hi Ray, I'm using 1 hour charts, the ADX filter is a standard Empty4 indicator, (Average Directional Movement Index), use standard settings (period 14). Again Stochastic is standard settings 5, 3, 3. Stop loss 40, and move to Break Even 30 pips. I'm now just using the TMA True, with signals at 0.4/-0.4 not 0.8/-0.8. I'm letting it run another week, but modifications may include drawing upper and lower trendlines/support and resistance/Daily Pivot, and program the EA to only open position once Price Action has broken through, which is pretty close to the 10.2 setup. I find the ADX and Stoch filters do a pretty good job of reducing whipsaw so loosers are minimised, but the setup is able to ride the bigger trends all the way until both TMA Slope and ADX reverse, which is why it netted 1600 pips in a couple of days (2000 minus 400) . But the markets wont always play so nice, so I'm guessing the final verdict on this one, will be how much drawdown/losses are suffered during the ranging periods.
