Where do you trade from?

I live on the east coast of the US and trade the European/US sessions, so I'm normally on a sleep schedule that gets me up at 1:30 am or so my time. I'm done trading for the year, so I'm converting back to "normal human time" right now. It makes me grumpy!

Does anyone else sleep crazy hours so they can trade crazy hours?

Not really an option for me. I have kids (though I'm recently divorced so I have them only half-time) so I have to stay on a schedule that works with theirs.

I'm in Colorado, so currently 7 hours after GMT. London opens at 3am.

This is pretty limiting, since many strategies require the higher volatility of the Euro sessions. I need to either find strategies that work during US hours, or find an automation platform I trust with my money. Not sure yet if I'm ready to trust Empty4 to run unattended.

That's a very valid concern. Should I decide to go fully automatic, I would certainly have a laptop sitting on my bedside table and my cell phone getting updates with every trade taken. Hmm, that may not actually be sleeping.

I've tried just the US session as well, but I've never been able to trade consistently if I see that there was a big move in the Euro session that I missed. For now, I'm stuck with the crazy schedule. My seven year old doesn't mind, it means we go to bed at the same time. Besides, now I have a nice place to hang out.

I actually just had a few beers with a good friend of mine who is woefully unemployed and on the hairy edge financially. I hatched an idea (maybe after too many beers!?) to have HIM be my trading robot during the gawd-awful hours and give him a cut of the proceeds. Turns out he's often awake by 3-4am anyway and he's totally up for the challenge of learning how to follow signals and place orders.

So now I need to decide if I trust any of these strategies enough to turn a trained monkey loose on them.

We don't have it too bad down here...Sydney opens 7am, Tokyo 9am , Europe 4pm, London 5pm and the US session 10pm.....not great if you work during the day. Good for longer time frame trading like daily or 12 hr tho.
I am not an EA trader due to the fact we are still in the dark ages here with internet reliability. Auto trading is so interesting and I believe it will become the 'normal' way to trade some time in the future. Makes too much sense!

Sort of like the turtles !!!! LOL Plenty of decent systems out there as long as they do not get too complicated for the monkey and he is disciplined. Interesting to see how you go if you follow this through.

I'm in Sydney and trade live with Cowboy Go Markets Aust &Cowboy IBFX Aust. I trade live with The Beast $ now The new Simple Beast. I also trade baskets with a cameo T101 manual entry system that I manage with Steves MPTM ea. I demo trade plenty of Steve's EA's but nothing gets my Rocks off like the Beast. I am currently demoing Scoobs new bot which is exciting and I can see heaps of potential in it. Have learnt so much in the past two years through Forex Factory and following Steve's threads.

I live in Bangladesh, Its an Asian country, some of you may not even heard of it.

I consider myself very lucky because I live in the perfect Time Zone you can have for currency trading. Its GMT +6. I get Tokyo open at 6 AM, London at 2 PM and NY at 7 PM. I wake up 5:50, take a quick peek at the market, if it feels too slow, I take another nap! Wake up before Frankfurt and trade till London close. This is a great Time Zone for Full Time forex traders.

I'm in Downtown Denver pretty darn close to Garyfritz....
