Guppy breakout EA

This is not really a time question, so don't growl at me...!

As my broker is GMT +2 (like many other people) this will give me a 4H candle that started 2 Hours before London Open and finish 2 Hours after it starts....The obsequious question here is, what candle will the EA look at when it wakes up base on the "TradingHours" value which will be in the middle of the current 4 hour candle...

Update and hour after the above post and 5 minutes after "London Open"...I have my answer, the EA uses the 4 Hour candle prior to the current.....

I just had the EA trigger at 5 Minutes past the London open and i can see that a soft buy stop of 147.254 and a sell limit of 146.457 has been placed on my chart....Interestingly you would have notice that at London Open, price was well below these two soft entry points....

The question i have is, what does it do now....? I'm not sure if it should already be entered, as i have a message in the Expertd Log "19:05:00 Guppy London breakout EA GBPJPY#,H4: Alert: Guppy London breakout EA GBPJPY# Sell trade has triggered. 2013.02.08 19:05:00" however i do not have a trade....!

Amit,

I think the trading time is only meant to cover a ten minute period after London Open, so if London Opens for you at 08:00, then your Trading Hours of "+08:05" is correct....However you end trading should be 5 Minutes later at "-08:10"

Anyway, that is my understanding....I hope i have it right....

What am I missing?

As I understand it the EA places pending trades. As per screen dump...these are just lines, not trades. Must I set the trades manually?

I know this eg is AU and not the GJ but it should work for any currency pair?

I not sure I'm getting it either, just like in your AU case and my GJ, prices had move outside the bracket set by the previous 4H candle....Maybe this is by design and a trade should be only take if price is still in side the range set at the open of London, let see what happens Monday...Or, maybe Steve would like to add some color to what should be expected here...!

PS, i think the strategy is meant to be used on GJ though, that's is why we are using London open....

You guys could always try reading post 1, just as an experiment. You never know, there is a dim possibility you might find out a thingy or two. No promises, but try the experiment.

I understand that an EA is normally designed to place for the trade for you--look closely the hint is in the "AUTOMATED EA" part in post 1.

If not, what exactly is automated about the EA indicating where to put the price? I can do that manually. I'm sure there's a lot of others who have the same question but are just too afraid too ask
