I don't have the source for that indi, and source wasn't included in the package for 10.4 posted by nanningbob.

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
Several pairs have a similar situation where the RSI is at the top/bottom but the AO has not changed colors yet - is it better to wait for the color of the AO to change in our favor (from red to green for long for example) - audusd & gbpjpy ...lhDT wrote:I need a setup confirmation on USDCAD buy-stop.
1- Price in an uptrend (above white line)
2- RSI 2 bottoming
3- I set a buy-stop at the nearest Pivot above the price ? In this case, weekly mid-pivot orange dashed line.
Is this correct ?
Also, the MM panel shows allocation but only for the current price VS the white line right ?
So for pending orders, we need to calculate the position size manually also against the white line or something else ?
Thx,
Lio

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
I get a similar read using the STO Oscilator with the AO. See pic below.
Set it to KPeriod 5, Slowing 3, DPeriod 3 Price Field close/close MA method LWMA Set the FIXED minimum to 20 and make sure the box is checked and set the maximum to 80 and make sure the box is set. Then go to Colors set the main to none and signal to GOLD (I have steel blue to show the difference) and click OK.
Then drag the AWESOME OSCILATOR AO unto the screen on top of the STO Oscilator and you have a similar or almost exact read. In fact it gives a couple extra reads the RSI 2 did not. Play with that and compare and this could solve the problem.
All indis use MA but with different math so if you get the math close you get the same reads.

Here is a test template and you can compare the two. Let me know if you think this would work as an alternative.

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
I have a request. Please quit sending me PMs with your questions. This is what we have a Forum for. My mailbox is being filled with individual questions that should be posted here. Even though I try to help as many people as I can I am not your private tutor, so post your questions here. Here is my answer to this one which will now go here for everyone to read. If you send me questions by PM and they should be posted here I will not answer them. My PM is for private conversations, especially with those who are developing parts of the system. Thank you.
Hi Bob,
Many, many thanks for 10.4.
The pdf makes very interesting and informative reading. As it says in the doc, one does not need to go through all the previous versions to get an idea of the system.
However, from a newbie perspective, there seems to be very little information in the pdf about using the numerous indicators, EAs and scripts included in the zip file.
It's possible to work out, from the descriptions in the document, what some of them are meant to do and where there go, but a section explaining the indis, EAs etc., - and the settings they need to have - would go a long way to helping those who aren't already very familiar with previous versions (as several here seem to be).
First there were no EAs in the system so nothing to explain. There are 4 indis you use and they were all explained in the Documents. They are the MM indi Page 33 and following, The Pivot/S/R with MID pivots-how to use them is explained pages 10-27, The 240 MA which is explained pages 6-10 and the RSI 2 with AO which is included in pages 10-27.
The only parts I did not explain were the scripts which are self explanatory. Delete Pending which deletes all your pending trades instead of doing them one at a time. Fake ticks which creates ticks on weekends when your broker is closed. Close all orders, closes all your open orders so you dont have to close them one by one yourself. Trade analyzer will give you an analaysis of your trades you have under your account balance. And force history download will speed up the download of past history when you install a new Empty4 from your broker. If there is anything else you dont understand post your question on the forum.

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
You mean to BUY?? there is not signal to buy 1. price is way above the R1. 2. You dont have RSI 2 signal, 3. you dont have AO, too late for that, 4. it is way beyond the pivot line. You need to wait for the retrace and enter later. It just crossed the 240 line so wait for the trend to be established.allisonmagic wrote:what do you guys think about nzd/chf ? the monthly candle is above the 2ma, 4h trying to close above the WR1

Hi bob, can you answer this question please, aristid wrote:To illustrate my question better.

entry at S1, but was a fake break, now moving towards stoploss.
How to handle upcoming additional signals?
thanks again,
Aristides.
what happens when price keeps moving against you? Do you add more entries or do you just wait - in this case price keeps testing the broken pivot lines as support even though it's supposedly in a 'downtrend'

No it was a great question. That is how you will learn. Sometimes my answers are short and quick and may seem harsh but are not intended to be. Re: 10.4 A Complete System
I will normally hold trades and look for a 2nd entrance. Sometimes the retrace is bigger than norm but we still have the trend. The issue becomes a MM issue. Let us say you trade 1% of your account, meaning you set your SL to affect 1% of your account. If you enter a 2nd position you are now risking 2%. That is no big deal. Now if you have several positions going and this would make your account got to a higher loss you have to think it through. This is how I do it:shellsnail wrote:Hi bob, can you answer this question please, aristid wrote:To illustrate my question better.

1. I had a good day/week, more winners than losers, close everything and be done.
2. Close the ugly trades, like the eur/nzd when it didnt break the triangle I made the other day. I didnt wait for it to go all the way to the SL. I just closed it and reset up the trades. I am glad I did now because that thing dropped big time. You dont have to wait for the SL.
3. I know the long term fundies are with me and I know I cant lose. JPY weakness is deliberate govt. policty and will continue for a while so I dont worry about JPY trades going south for a while I will reenter them.
4. Too many ugly trades, close some out, dealing with all of them is not worth it.
5. Are some trade worth rescuing. Many times they are as long as you are always on the right side of the 240 line. Prices can run for months so your chance of it recovering are very good.
6. MM is the key to this decision. If I stay how much of my account am I risking and is it worth the risk with my other open positions going. If I already am having a good day, week, month, why risk it. Close out and trade another day. If my risk is low and my chances are good. Go for it.
For example, price is above 240, it retaces below the pivot. 1% loss if it hits SL but WP is a good entrance point and another 1% will not kill me. I take it.
Another, I am above R1 and AO has just turned orange, is it really worth waiting out? It could drop hundreds of pips. Better to close out now and look for a new signal.
These are the things you look for.
