Typically where you set your stop to BE after a certain gain. i.e with 50 pips profit we jump the stop up to BE. You could also use a jump stop to trail, same thing. Lock (x) pips after so much profit is hit.

It would depend on the trade. You may want to lock 25 pips after every 100... The difference between the jump stop and trailing stop is it stays constant until you hit a threshold then locks whatever you choose, instead of just following like a trailing stop. You can allow more room to breathe, vs getting ratcheted up by a trailing stop in small increments.

MTPM has a 20 2 option I believe. So we lock 2 pips after we hit 20. Common setting on a 5-15 minute chart trade.

Personal preference. Many use it to get the trade to BE. The intent is early protection of your capital and not letting even a small winner turn into a loser. Once that is accomplished you can use any trade management you like. Including further Jump SL.
