Nowhere on Earth is far enough to evade the clutching claws of Uncle Sam if he wants your money. Most foreign crims won't even accept US citizens, let alone let them circumvent the US regulations.

Are both AVA and FXCM penny accounts? Can you hedge with them? Most important how fast are they in paying when you ask for your profits?

I have used FXDD and Alpari before but living in Obama Nation (American) I am too stupid to manage my own life So I am forced to go outside of my country for now. SmartraderFX is in Hong Kong and Canada. They are in my Time zone which is nice. I have had no issues. I get withdrawals quickly. They had some bad PR awhile back but I am satisfied with what it was about.
I second Steve's disdain for Forex4you. About a year ago they sucked one of my accounts dry with spikes and SL hunting.
Glad I got out before they too it all BEWARE

I was with Forex.com for my first couple years trading 2004-2006. Thing is, I got tired of the sales calls. I don't know if They still do this. I was losing back then, and this made me feel like they were trying to keep me on the hook.

I have been with Cowboy IBFX since. I was about to drop them during the autumn of 2007. I am sure they were definitely hunting my stops, and the price spikes and bounces in the spread were intolerable. Traders were talking, and Cowboy IBFX came out with the excuse that their servers and feeds were being upgraded (a long process of about 4 months).

They also began to repair their reputation with management changes and improved services. Even though I think that in slow market periods the Ask line (spread) tends to drag or wonder around unnecessarily.
I have had pretty good luck since, always get my withdrawals (in a good month) without question, and get prompt and knowledgeable support. I have had 3 occasions where I complained about errors in trades closing and hitting stops when historically the price never came even near it. They decided in my favor on 2 of these.

Their chief trader is Rob Booker. I've talked to him a couple of times at seminars, and I think he is a pretty legit guy. Raghee Horner is also involved, and I hear that she is also on the up and up.

They are now owned by tradestation, and I have not heard too much positive about them. The jury is out on that.


SO, Cowboy IBFX is probably as good as anyone for now.

As far as FIFO: I am basically for them with the BIG PLAYERS, that are risking the general welfare of the public with irresponsible trading, banking and investment practices. In these cases, they are playing around with the security of the nation, and the general public.
The US banks were in so deep into the packaged housing derivitives, and had made so many Bad loans, and were so over-leveraged, that only 3 percent (I am given to understand) forclosure rates totally bankrupted them. BIG ROOKIE MISTAKE MADE BY SOME SUPPOSEDLY VERY SMART PEOPLE. This something that even a blue collar guy wouldn't do with his 401K.

HOWEVER, these regulations should not apply to non-commercial people like us, since the only person I am hurting with a margin call is ME.

By the way, has anyone seen the movie "Margin Call"? Just came on on DVD. very interesting movie.
