The Incredible 10.4 - For Dummies

And another thing, my Empty4 has slowed to a crawl.

My browser and other programs are fine, but 10.4 has my bits and bytes wading through molasses.

Don't know if it's relevant, but I looked in the History folder and it was up to 150 MB. Don't know if that is an issue or not. I see that History contains two demo servers, and one live server. Maybe I should delete the demo servers, perhaps they are updating in the background.

Any success stories how this was fixed?

Got a strange charting issue. Maybe you guys can help.

I have about 18 charts loaded. I had set up all the charts like you see in the bottom screen.

Recently, I added GBPCAD & GBPAUD. For some reason, I can't get them to open full size (top screen). I have tried a fresh Load History (takes about 45 minutes on my clunky DSL line), scrolling the screen back and forth, re-booted the computer, and switched time frames from H4 to MN and back to H4. No joy. These two particular charts refuse to fill.

I may have to perform another chicken sacrifice.

Certainly looks like a lack of data issue, as you already tried to solve. All I can say, what I do is, turn off AutoScroll, click the Zoom in (-) until stops, then hold or repeatedly press the HOME key, the screen should travel to the left as more data comes in, then change a few timeframes around the one you want, so 1 H, 30 Min, Daily etc, good luck

It's funny, I have data going back to 25 Feb, no more. So, the lower time frame charts look full, but from H4 on up it's not much. Also, on the lower time frames, the pivots aren't showing up.

Went to Tools>Options>Charts and changed Max Bars in History to 5000, and Max bars in chart to 200.

That helped a lot, but now my MAs are missing. What the heck?

EDIT: Rebooted Empty4 and the MAs came back. Jeesh!

It is a known problem with the RSI indicator from template 10.4 v 1.01, if you change to 10.4 v 1.02 it won't slow down over time however the RSI is different, similar but not quite the same. I restart Empty4 every 24 hours and it works normally on v1.01.

I could open all the pairs on FXDD and I had no trouble - but that platform doesn't have all the pairs that Cowboy IBFX has and plus that is the platform Bob uses - so I want to use it but you can't have all the pairs open at once (don't forget to change showInfo to false on the NT TMATrue SlopeHisto MTF indicator) so I just set up some profiles and only keep the charts open that look close to entry. For example - JPY pairs - EUR pairs...

I am on Cowboy IBFX too and have all tradeable pairs open, closing Empty4 and restarting once a day is working for me.
