Update : trade was not closed but AO color changed, don't know why

I have got small problem with ITM. I tried it today and when I put it on my gbp/nzd chart everything looks fine except one... open trades=0 when I have got 3 levels of trades now.

So I have tried with eur/gpb chart. I attached and script shows trades=0. But in a few mins I have got my second level trade opened. Now ITM shows trades=1.

Does it mean that ITM should be on chart before I open any trades ? Maybe it is a dumb question and already answered 1000's Times... sorry then but it looks like ITM cant manage my already opened trades.

BTW My crim is IcMarkets. I use standard settings, no changes. BTW - SL and TP set working good (for secound e/gbp trade) but it still doesn't manage the first one (SL is not changing for the first trade when it is changing for second one).

Did you Check the magic number of ITM and your trades, they Must match to work.

After updating some indi's, and ea's for 10.4 my MA's disappeared, last night on all my charts!!!

I closed Empty4 and reopened several times. I changed the number of bars in history and forced the download of all history.
Nothing!
Finally, this morning, I went back to the folders and sorted by date to look at the LAST indi's I put in to see if one of them was the offender.

Turns out, I had put 10.4 ITM in BOTH the experts folder AND the indicators folder!! Removed it from indicators folder and all is well, now.

btw: one of the symptoms of having no MA's was that ALL of the 3 dashboards indicated that ALL pairs were in an uptrend!

Andy has sent me an update of Potential_10.4_Dash - download from post 1.

It has some additional alerts and is now an EA, so make sure it goes in your EA folder.

HMMM.

I have downloaded the latest 10.4 Pending Order Placement Script. Every time I try to run it, now, it fails. It says "failed with error (0) no error".

I thought it might be too close to sr line so I set the MinimumPipsToNextSR to 0 but still no joy.

Any ideas?

Latest version of Andy's Potential_10.4 dashboard EA is in post 1.

This is basically for those of us whose display showed meaningless 'O' and 'P' in some of the columns- we have a font set missing so Andy has reverted to one that we all do have.

Andy also mentions an extra notifications thingy, but I have no idea what he means there.

Since this is place for “thingies” I’ve decided to post something I’ve put together. Most of the code is borrowed from few other indicators so if you find some errors feel free to modify
It’s just MA with few whistles to play with. By default it has hard coded parameters for H1 and above TF (all lower TF will be ignored) but you can easily modify this, just find > switch (tmpPeriod)< statement and change/modify it to meet your needs.

On attached screenshot WHITE line is MA with default settings and YELLOW has random numbers, just to show you the difference.

Thanks for the update, Steve. I really like the FkOpenPosition MMp. Some day I hope to be smarter than an EA, but I'm not holding by breath.

FYI - I dragged the new ITM onto a chart that had three open trades. Two were negative $$ and one was positive. Overall, the chart was in the hole. Normally, when trying out a new EA, I check the "Ask Manual Confirmation" box, but this time I forgot to do that.

When I dragged ITM onto the chart, I got the error message: InsertTakeProfit(): Take Profit>market, so tp cannot be inserted. - Fair enough.

Then it closed all three trades!

So, it seems to be absolutely imperative that your pair be in profit before loading ITM. I will make a note at the top of my copy of the User Guide.

I am not entirely sure which bit of "10.4 Individual Trade Management" in the title of this EA is causing some people so much difficulty.

ITM does not manage trades sent via other systems.

ITM does not manage trades sent via the user's fevered imaginings, wildest dreams, most lurid nightmares etc.

It manages 10.4 trades AS SENT USING 10.4. 10.4 DEMANDS THAT SECOND TRADES ARE ONLY SENT WHEN THE FIRST ONE IS IN BLOODY PROFIT.

For fuck's sake, which bit of this has eluded you? Come on Sam, there are not all that many two-syllable words here. How the blue blazes did you come to have two trades in loss using 10.4? And what then possessed you to think, "Ah. I know. Let's drag ITM onto the chart and see if it can sort out my mess?" Or maybe I have misunderstood, and that actually trades can be fired off at random whenever the so-called trader thinks, "Oooo. Let's send a trade now 'cos I feel lucky"?

I am not entirely sure why anyone using ITM in a way in which it was not intended to be used, is surprised when it then bites them on the bum. Most ea's do that when being used for purposes for which they are not intended. Have you really not noticed this in the past?

Or, to put it with a level of clarity that people here appear to need: only a cretin using ITM in a way in which it was not intended to be used, and is then surprised when it then bites them on the bum.

Guys, you can either use ITM to manage trades as it is intended to manage them, or you can sit helplessly by as it chews up your trades because you are too dense to RTFM. In case of doubt, RTFM is shorthand for Read The Fucking Manual.

Listen up people.

10.4 ITM is coded to work with trades sent using Bob's ACTUAL TRADING SYSTEM. It is not coded to work with some moronic offshoot you have chosen to come up with for yourself. Sorry if I have not previously made this abundantly clear; I always assumed the clue was in the ea title.

So, if you are trading 10.4 as originally intended, then you can use ITM. If you are not, then you cannot.

Capiche? Or do I need to make myself a tad clearer? After all, I have used the occasional two-syllable word in this response. Sorry about that. I can be blunt and say what I actually mean if you need me to.

I sometimes wish I had a button that said Steve had a rant today and I could push it and go there. I wonder how many of these I have missed over the years.
