very interesting concept...i admit i like the solidity of the entry logic but am more fascinated by the exit logic based on SR and fractals...i have been fiddling on a manual system that i eventually wish to have automate i am developing using mtf 3 semafor indicator which is based on zigzag as a basis of exits but not entries where i use other indicators..phil_trade if you need any help or want to add me to your community then do let me know..my strength is trading system developmenta...although looking at you guys plugging away makes me wish i could learn mql but for lack of enough time

I don't have slipshod SR code under my eyes, but while fractals/semafor/zigzag are all more or less variations of the same algo to spot HH,LH,HL,LL, semafor settings might be a bit more tweakable while SR fractals are more "set in stone" type of thing.
But since we are dealing with D1 long term trades, i am not quite sure tweaking (shortening) the zigzag parameters would really help. Could induce more and more LH and HL where to put stops, nearer and nearer to the current closing, and as usual, cutting losses more often, but missing out profitable swings.

MQL is no big deal if you have some basics in C.

There's 3 years I'm working on this...so some weeks more isn't a problem for me. I'm happy if you improve the concept. You can PM me your MQL version if you want, I will upload it at post one. (Finally somebody (besides Niepce) who brings something of constructive)

you're right...it's a danger to be aware. I'm working with FT, not Empty4. I can Forward Test 4 years in multi pairs within 30 minute and then study each trade. And each new month, I control the strategy with new fresh data never seen by EA.
My main concern is not optimisation but understanding why some pairs are good from 2010-2013 and not others. also, why 2009 is very hard for a lot of pairs. I'm working on an automatic detection of this behavior to try to asllep these pairs.

Hmm..It's a daily strategy...you will have to be very patient to "play with". Niepce, what is your thought ? Do we publish your MQL version now ?

You have a whole resource of testers here on the forum, your own admission says this will be slow to forward test as its a daily strategy, by releasing you will increase the testing speed 10 fold..then you can collate the results and create a setfile.....remember 20 heads are better than 2.

it's a normal way with Custum indicator said Niepce. If someone know how to avoid this...you're welcome :

one way would be to modify S/R indi and force it to write its last fractals dates/values in Global Variable, so Empty4 EA would only have to read this value, without call iCustom. Anyone for this job ?
