Yes the mechanical aspect is certainly a good thing. If you can keep up that success rate then making an EA of this should be fairly easy I guess for someone like Steve and should mirror the manual method exactly (which usually isn't the case as I'm sure you know).
Cheers,
Dave.

Yeah. I was hoping to attract the attention of one of our expert (and very generous) coders to do me the scripts.musky wrote:So this is a manual system? Its in the automated section.
Not sure if I'd want a full bot though .......

Agree 1000% ! What matters is how much your account grows, and that's based on 1) the amount you risk, 2) the R:R of your trades, and 3) your win %. GT3RS has it exactly right. (Some people express it as risk and expectancy, but expectancy is calculated using the win% and R:R.)GT3RS wrote:Remember guys, number of pips gained is TOTALLY irrelevant, UNLESS you quote how many pips you RISKED.
Too many people only pay attention to "pips won," and ignore what they're risking &etc. Remember that you leave a lot of money on the table if you risk too little, and you can KILL a great winning system by risking too much! Pay attention to your risk size -- the amount you'll lose if the market hits your SL -- and size your position appropriately. 1-2% risk per trade is a reasonable ballpark range if you haven't analyzed your trade history carefully.

Re: 10.4 GT3RS style
Very nicely written up and explained GT3RS. Addresses the problem I have with getting the pendings in early as well. I actually hope someone DOES a full bot sometime soon, with this option for entries as well as a few others. It would be nice to do backtesting and have REAL stats.
I always viewed Bob's 240 stop as just a line to keep us from doing something stupid. I also just use a swing high or some other means to get clear picture of R:R. But not as nicely mechanical as you. Wonderful work.
The good news is. If we use MAE as a basis for measuring risk statistically, I think we'll find the vanilla version stacks up fine. But I'd sure love to test. Obviously by defining risk up front you head that off at the pass.
If no one beats me to this, I'll likely put this in a shell and get the scripts, and or bot working. But I know there are folks faster and more concerned about user friendliness than me. I am a hack it. Test it. Chuck it style coder. Maybe one day I'll trust bots to execute... right now I only like em for grunt work.
Good luck. Thanks for sharing.
Mike

Hey GT3RSGT3RS wrote:And the M15 chart where we look for our entry.
NOTE, we only look for entry during London or NY session.
I have used an EMA crossover signal to print arrows on my chart.
I only see one MA on your charts.
Do you mean to have 2 different EMA's and enter when the 2 EMA's cross?
Or do you use a 3EMA for one chart and an 8EMA for different timeframe?
Or do you look for price to close over one the EMA's and then enter after the first full bar both opens and closes on the other side of the MA?
Thanks

Also, do you just enter market or do set pendings?

Re: 10.4 GT3RS style
Nice work GT3RS. Glad to see someone else has gone further than I have on tightening up the entries and S/L on to NB 10.4 to improve the expectancy. Was needed!GT3RS wrote:Results this week from the 14 pairs I monitor:
AUDUSD -2%
AUDUSD - 2%
AUDUSD +8%
EURGPB + 8%
EURNZD trade still open - showing slight profit at the moment
EURUSD +8%
GBPUSD +8%
USDCAD +8%
USDCHF -2%
So, assuming you started the week with a $1000 account and assuming the trades were in that order [they weren't], you would have ended the week with $1,383.
That's a 38% return on account guys, never risking more than 2% per deal.......
Would love someone to write a script for the EMA crossover entry.........
An alert for when RSI[2] is at 100 or 0 on a candle close would be handy too......

Thanks Gary. Glad someone else sees what I've been banging on about!!
I may start a thread about "evolving R" [Risk:Reward]. This is a concept I came across from Trader Dante on FF.
Basically, as an example, if you are 100 pips up with a 20 pip sl and price reaches 90 pips, you are effectively risking 110 pips to gain 10 pips....
Think about it....
Your R evolves and changes throughout the trade.
