As far as NB10.4 strategy is concerned AU could be setting it self up for a textbook decent trade back down to the lows of last week? A pin bar here with a bounce off the 240MA its going to be rude not to get involved with some pendings.
Well, just noticed quite a difference of our MA240 positions. template ootb except for coulors etc. MAs are probably counting satturdays and sundays and getting differing results if they count 5 days or six days per week.
Yes I am using the 240 EMA instead of LWMA.
 This is sacrilege. That chart is so so so much prettier with that confluence. Thankfully I am flexible enough to get over it. ;) We'll just chuck it in the advanced thread instead. Vanilla can take it a level lower (if it gets there).

For those following along with a bit more advanced bent: On the 15M it already threw up CJ's M, came back and tested that top again for an even stronger sell. There is also very pretty confluence with 240 tma, and ATR for the day. This is the High of the day folks. London can take it back there, and mess with us, and just might. But they likely leave it shy of the top if they have enough volume there. They've already pulled back for the day and are consolidating.

Then we get Bob's pretty midweek turnaround mentioned in the manual. This is a fun game, yes?

Yeh Id never take a bounce off an MA anyway. Put any value MA on a chart and you can all ways form fit them. I personally favour the 20 and 63 which have been taken off strats thread but I am keeping a close eye on this 240 used within this strategy to see what works best.

Question for Bob or anyone else. What was the reasoning behind using a LWMA instead of the SMA or EMA?

I have to say I'm bleeding pips on 10.4 this week. Several entries, every single one unsuccessful. SLs get hit, histograms change colour, RSI changes direction and crosses to the wrong side of the histogram. Pendings get triggered by spikes and then turn around straight into loss, where they then hit the SLs that I bring up due to stutters in the RSI. What a mess. Anyone else having a hard time?

Personally the only trade that stuck out to me this week ( so far its only Tuesday) and taken was the AUDCAD and did pretty well out of it. Nothing else has taken my fancy.

AU and NU seem to be setting up ok they have my full attention.

Aside from a purely mechanical system the way I see it is this.

EU - too dodgy around the BRN 1.30
GU - possibly oversold
YENS - the only way is up.
CAD - Does have potential
$ index - in need of pullback

Ya, I had two successful trades this week.
Two entries on the audcad went all the way to R1 where I took profit.
eurgbp I took a single small winner on.
Stop loss hit on the GBPJPY.
I am slightly up on a audchf trade currently.
Then I have 8 other pairs that are in the red, still open though.
Sad thing is last night at some point while I was sleeping I could have closed them all out for a nice little profit.
Maybe tonight/tomorrow will turn things around.

The short answer is yes I am down on my open trades, but I could actually close them all right now and end up almost even for the week. But I think I will wait and see how things pan out.

Ross

Simple question. Is that white line the 240? On mine the AudUsd totally cleared the 240 about 8 hours ago and the last two candles have been totally above it.

Yes we had this conversation a few hours ago its a EMA instead of LWMA. I think I may delete my post to avoid any further confusion.

Sneaky week for trend followers. Maybe is good time for counter trading CAD and AUD pairs. USD overbought. EUR and GBP have no strenght yet. Only big news could keep trend moving.

Hm -- where's R1 on AUDCAD for you, Chris? I'm using the template on page 1, and my R1 is at 1.0611. PA went as high as 1.0602, then turned around, thus not hitting R1 for me. Still in that trade because no exit signal yet... I wonder if my pivots are somehow displaying at a different level from everybody else's.
