Which VPS are recommended for live accounts using EAs?

could the experienced successful fxtraders among us shed more light on the VPS they are using for their live accounts with EAs?

I have heard of CNS and I will check out Beeks since one of my brokers are based in UK.

What about forex ea vps and forexvps?
The former was recommended by a friend and the other I found through google.
There are so many found through google! Any live and current experience with VPS providers will help.

I am very pleased with ECS webhosting. I read about them in a forum then finally picked them from the crowd.

I run Alpari UK and Tadawul FX accounts. Alpari has an average of 12ms and Tadawul has under 5ms ping time. Very good customer service, never had a problem with the VPS. The price is very reasonable. It was absolutely a great surprise to me. Previously I had SWVPS (US based), I would say it's a no go, after trying ECS webhosting. Anyone else using them? I have the Hyper-V S package, but later I might upgrade to the next one. Because I overuse RAM now with 3 MT4s running.

are you running your EAs on forexvps' preinstalled Empty4 or are you running your own MT4s on their vps?
When you mentioned "once (I) set it up correctly", could you share your experience?

Ignorant question of the day... I used Cowboy IBFX-AU and will soon need a VPS myself. Does anyone know where their servers are based? For latency would be good to have the VPS closer to the source obviously.

We're not high-frequency traders, so we're not worried about millisecond response between our EA and the market. There's generally going to be a large distance between the market data source and the criminal, and probably between the criminal and their liquidity providers. Does shortening the distance between criminal and EA really make that big a difference?

Shortening the distance probably doesn't matter, but it "feels" like the right thing to do. It doesn't make sense to state "I picked a VPS as far away from my broker's servers as I could." So the opposite must be true, right?

I'm personally looking to move to a VPS and I know I will want it to have a better connection to my broker than I do from home. In the end, however, my success will me measured by the quality of the system I'm running, not the +/- 80 ms response time difference.

Most of the criminals have several data feeds. You can check by clicking in the lower right corner of your Empty4 window. Here is an example.

From this it is still unknown where the data servers are located. But there is always a solution. Make sure only one instance of Empty4 is running at this time. Bring up your good old command prompt. Type command: netstat -b -n

From the list, lines that belong to terminal.exe is interesting. What you need is the Foreign address, in our case 72.26.216.25 To find it's geographical location use this site: http://www.iplocation.net Now you know the location of one of your crim's data server. You have to repeat the process after you pick a different data feed from the Empty4 corner list.

I chose my VPS service by its geo location. I did these checks first and of course after going online with the VPS I pinged all the data feed IPs to prove the good latency time. The results were absolutely fine. A nice little tool for pinging is PingInfoView.
