Aussiedock, to give you some encouragement, I have started on the EA.

We are going to take one duck at a time and make sure it is quacking in tune before moving on to the next, so this is going to take some time.

Later on today, I shall post a version that works on the first duck - a cross of the 8 by the 3, and with PA in the appropriate direction.

I shall not start a separate thread for this; we will develop it quietly here first, amongst those who are interested. Mind, only an idiot would not be interested after reading how you developed your system - it is what has hooked me.

Don't comment on this yet, but you do need to start thinking about exactly how to quantify the 4th duck. There is no way to code purely visual thingies into mql4. When we get to this duck, I shall need something a tad more specific than, "Errrr. I look at it."

Doc, I just took a bath and realised that useful information is scattered all over this thread like spent machine gun cartridges on a cadets' training ground.

Would you take a few minutes to line up all your ducks in a Word or OpenOffice doc, please? Use bullet points for each duck, then further indented bp's for where each duck needs do waddle so it is quacking in tune with the others.

Re the 4th duck, leave it blank for now if you want. I suggest something along the lines of (buy trade) Rsi > x & Rsi is y points higher than z candles ago, but you might have better ideas.

Doc, are you aware that the ma cross indi looks at a smoothed moving average, not an ema? Does it matter?

Doc, in my capacity as a Power Crazed Admin, I can do anything I like with peoples' posts, so I have purloined a section of post 1 here to describe the bot as it develops.

The first version is in post 1. Don't get excited guys; it has a long way to go before it is any use.

Doc, you can see in post one what I have done so far. Forget my request for a spec doc; it is better if I simply ask you questions when I am confused.

So here is the first one: how do you ascertain duck 2 i.e. 2nd Duck - the PA is trending in the same direction as the 50?

I agree with you 100% regarding the merits of Doc`s system. I think Doc is very much like Bob (nanningbob) and Big E (eelfranz) and his system has a bright future.

As I am typing this I am watching the film "tombstone" on BBC1 and I am glad we have our own "DOC" on our side against the criminal brokers!

For what it is worth, the latest version of my ea is in post 1.

Unless there is actually any interest in it, I am taking it no further. In particular, I have changed my mind again about needing a precise spec. I have read this thread again in it is merely confusing.

So, Doc, until you come up with something that a coder can work with, then you are stuck with my interpretation of what you have written. Given that what you have written is a confusing mess, then my interpretation of it could well be miles wide of the mark. I can do no more.

Also, in the Fratelli EA i took the EMA crossover indicator and implemented in in the EA, this should be straightforward to move over to remove the need for the separate indicator.

I think there is great potential here, just needs more clarity from AussieDoc, but i'm here to help

You were 100% correct with Duck 1 - the MAs are SMMA!

Knowing that human sensory defaults are SOUND > SIGHT & because I am unable to sit glued to a computer screen all the time...I improvised! I altered the original EMA CROSS Indicator values to SMMA...so that the Submarine Klaxon Alert sounds pretty much at the same time as the LONG & SHORT arrows appear on the chart where the 3MA & 8MA cross.

The 2nd Duck (trade direction) is also based upon colour. From the top:- LONG = Green, Red, Magenta (3MA>8MA>50MA) lines curving upwards (Higher Highs) -- SHORT = Magenta, Red, Green (50MA>8MA>3MA) lines curving downwards (Lower Lows).

Because the 3 & the 8 are pretty fast MAs I'm looking for the cross to happen within 3-5 candles of the pivot.

Not a hint of it, and dragging information from you is like pulling teeth.

Which pivot? How do you measure it? Recognise it? Make it up as you go along? Anything, really.
