Hi McNish, the value 4 represents seconds, and is simply a number I pulled out of the air. Ideally it'd be something a user could set, with 0 for continual updating as it does now.

Andy, I've done quite a bit of work on my local EA regarding the setting of SLs and TPs. With SLs its not only checking to ensure that its at least a minimum distance (ATR based) from the entry, but also is beyond recent highs (for shorts) & lows (longs). With the TP, I've ensured its at least 1/4 the distance from the entry as the stop from the entry, avoiding trades with huge SLs and tiny TPs, and restricted it to being max 75% of the stop distance, avoiding trades with a TP much larger than the SL.

I think I missed that! I want to try it out right now, but my coding skills are very (super very) poor.

So if I'm guessing correctly, all I would need to do to implement this is open up the code, and add those lines right?

As I don't really watch the screens at all, I would like to delay screen updates to around every 30 seconds (if that's going to help reduce CPU usage). Using your lines, where would I need to enter those "30 seconds"?

Also, I did a search of the text "displaygrid()" on the code and found it several times, which one is the "function" you're reffering to?

Sorry if my questions are way to archaic, I don't know sh*t about coding hahaha...

I DON'T want to sound like a princess, but I would like to kindly request the coder MrLong to explore options to reduce the amount of resources the EA takes, as I have noticed that my processor (quad core, pretty good hardware) is permanently at 100% usage.

Did you try the change I suggested on the previous page (about halfway down)? I'd be interested to know if it helps.

I've done quite a lot on the outer settings and close to the Ma settings, I'll upload 1.08 and you can take a look, then we can add anything extra that looks good in 1.09, also reduced lot size near to the Ma, all optional.

I just read MrLong's latest post about the update on v8 with the option of turning the display off but if we could just make it "less resource consuming" instead that turning it off altogether I think that'd be the way to go.

Would you mind copying the section of the code I would need to change so the EA updates the dashboard for example, every 30 seconds, (but like someone said, leave order management to every second or every tick or however it is working right now)?

acosta, sent you a PM rather than cluttering up the forum etc. I understood Andy's comment to mean that he's going to add both the option to slow the refreshing of the display and turning it off altogether in 1.08.

Not a problem, I'm not surprised if I've locally duplicated some of what you've done in 1.08, waiting for 1.09 makes sense.

Be sure to add the indicators to your indicators folder, or the EA WILL ERROR:

Lots of settings for you to choose from, just read the comments in the EA.

This has the option of using the RSI, coded in by CandleTiger.

Don't forget the change the magic number to carry on managing existing trades.

Theres a setting for you to choose, just change to 30, might take a while to start up but once running will look ok.

If you were one of the first 3 members to download the EA, you need to set :
extern double RequiredPercent = 5.00; to zero, or it will close existing trades if the basket profit is above 5.00%.
