The fact is that there are huge numbers of opportunities in 10.4. The question is who can harvest them.
Yep, thats what I've come round to thinking too. I had a cracking first couple of weeks - over 10%. Since then I've been taking hits and eroding that 10% slowly. On Mon this week people were talking of a over 500 pip day -I came out with a small loss! I seem to be taking poor positions and missing those that turn out to be classics. Not yet sure what I'm doing wrong poorly.
You're not alone. I'm feeling the same and working on it. Made some (demo) profit this week, but am just not seeing it like others are. Yet.
Only about 249 pages late to the party Bob but I really like 10.4. A really great pdf you put togeather. I like especially how you work around the market changing directions from an up trend to a down trend or vise versa. The system accomodates this very well. I am retired and do not like being glued to the computer and this is the perfect system for me, place a pending trade and go out to eat. Thanks for your time and effort here. Thanks to the many contributers and coders. I have followed you through the years and it has been facinating to see how your systems have evolved. Using the 2 ma which you have used in the past but now on the monthly and transfering it down as a 240 ma on the 4 hour based on a very sound definition of what a trend represents in forex was a stroke of genious. So many books have been written and are worthless because traders who have traded stocks and other invester driven markets think they can transfer their knowledge to forex. Thinking outside that box you have developed a system based on a realistic definition of what a trend is in forex.
The Gann Ribbons ... A new tool for looking at Time Periods, Price and Dynamic S/R in any system.
I have been struggling last week, but made 2.5% yesterday again by being more picky than before.
What I have found usefull is to open 2 charts with;
- CSS D1
- CSS H4
And compare these.
Like today, the USD is flat on the D1 [compared to yesterday] but on the H4 it's climbing hard. EUR is at the bottom of the barrel on both charts, so a save sell in my opinion.
I'm in sell EURUSD and EURCAD as the CAD is the big riser on the H4. As long as the gap between EUR and CAD keeps widening, I'll stay in the sell.

To illustrate this, attached the open order statement from a demo I started monday. I close and reverse on every CSS cross on the H4.
Funny to see that although there has been a 11.5% banked LOSS, the floating profit averages this out perfectly. MT4i is giving me issues on this account, but after the initial DD the account has only been in updraft since.
Curious to see how this one plays out after a few weeks.

OK now what do I do. I have the USA session and the eur/cad is at WS3 I closed all my trades when I went up 2.5% but the bottom has fallen out on the Euro and hate to get out Sheeeeeeeeesh what a week to wonder about greed. I mean Weekly S 3 for crying out loud.

hi Gertje,
could you explain what do you mean by CSS cross, is it between currencies on your trade?
spillini wrote:OK, I know this isnt going to set well with some of you guys, but has anyone really checked out US/ Singapore. Nice spike to pullback and nice setup lurking. I have had some luck with this pair and giving an FYI.
Jim
I loved that pair when I could trade it, no longer offered by my broker. It is one of the great ranging pairs and wont get away from you if you have a bad entrance. Nice pair to trade. You could learn that one pair, trade big lots and make a nice living on it.
This pair is available at Global Prime and Cowboy IBFX Aussie. If Cowboy IBFX Aussie offer it, I assume that the US branch offers it as well, but do not know.
Read the effing manual, ok?
Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.
I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.
Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

My special thanks to Thomas (tomele) for all the incredible work he does here.
One post above the one you reply to are two charts with CSS values lined out by a indicator Baluda wrote. The cross I mention is when two values indicated by the lines of the single currencies intersect and cross each other.
This could be an indication that the strenght from the pair containing the 2 currencies reverses and a change in direction happened.

Sorry Gertje, do you mean that the 11.5% loss balances out the $549 and you're roughly at breakeven?

Exactly, I started with $5.000 and the balance is now $4.428 so a $572 loss.
I'm trying to find out if there is an edge in this approach.
