The New Beast!

Hello fellowtraders!
I am so glad to see that The Beast! is alive. I am trading The Beast on my Cowboy IBFX-AU mini account Live since 7.7.2011 till now. I interrupt the Empty4 platform only for last 2 weeks of 2011. In this period I had about 12 L3 trades from which 3 were solved by manual (hedge) intervention at the beginning of August. The rest of trades were managed by Beast only. My starting capital was 122 USD and my initial lot size is 0.01 (1pip - 1 cent). Now my balance is 312 USD. From my experience Beast never gains less than 5 USD a week. I trade it OOTB on 11 pairs including Chf and Jpy pairs..

Now I am planning to set Beast provided here to my another Cowboy Go Markets FX account and im curious to compare the old Beast with the New one..

Hello Ribelo,

Thank you for your fantastic work. I have been using TB (June 8th version) live since June and I only had to manually intervene 2 or 3 times. I also had been using your version of Simple Beast for the last couple of weeks. The behaviour of the EA was the same for the last 2 weeks. It seems to take profit for the few trades and then it stops taking profit. My (positive) DD went up to 200 pips profit before I decide to manually take it. This occurred twice during the last 2 weeks.

I talked to a fellow trader (friend of mine) and he also experienced the same behaviour with SB.

Maybe I missed something, do I have to indicate any SL in the EA properties ?

If you put The Beast OOTB onto Cowboy IBFX US a trade hardly happend. This is due nfa limitation - No Hedge trades allowed. The beast is set to white box trading which places Buys and Sells at the same time.. So maybe thats the reason.. Check the Journal for errors..

I was wondering if anyone is still using this EA. I have been having problems with it not taking buy positions after the first buy has been initiated and the aqua line has been passed. Has anyone been having this problem?

Can you help or give me some guidance as to how to fix this issue.

For some reason sell positions are fine and always taken at the appropriate time. I can give a screenshot of the issue if needed and also the corresponding backtest to prove the trade should have been taken.

Hi Bunker (or anyone else that can chip in)

I'm trading TB too for a few months, and the only problem that I had with it was a GBPAUD trade that went deeper and deeper into the red. I'm using 1.2.6 recovery, and it triggered L3 (6 times my original lot size). After that I nearly blew up my accuont, so I had to close off the trade. Needless to say, the loss was catastrophic.

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light and maybe rpovide some advice on what I should have done.....much appreciated!

For starters, you should have been trading a lot smaller.

Recovery trades happen. Sometimes they happen more than once in a short period. You need to size your trades so you can survive them. Over time TB should make good profits, but only if you trade small enough to survive the recovery losses that happen along the way.

If a single recovery loss almost blew up your account, you're trading MUCH MUCH too large.

Ok, I think I will have to relook at my lots.

The problem was TB made the first sell at around 1.54792 on 19th April. I've been holding on till 8th May, and GBPAUD has been rising through the roof. TP for this trade is 1.56274, and currently GBPAUD is 1.60269.

In cases like this, should I still be holding on though?
