What settings are you using for Multibob, as I've been forward testing now for a few months and only growing the account by a few % every month. What broker & leverage are you using, and maybe can you post your setfile for comparison.

Also what pairs are you trading successfully with Trendy Gary?

I am on FinFX demo micro accounts at 100:1 with all my tests and normally fund them with 1000 dollars to keep it "real".

My Multibob is 1.2.14, but I am running three instances, one with 10.2, one 10.2a and one 10.2a (CTS) just to see if there is any marked difference. I understand there is a manual element to 10.2a (CTS) but I've no time to do it, so the trades close automatically.

In terms of profitability they are all similar and often close to the penny identically.

I'll post the set files over in multibob (with a link to here) tonight, work beckons, but as I recall, it's OOTB except for the selection of 10.2, 10.2a or CTS.

Recently doubled it's money, so I doubled the lot size manually to 0.02 and since then it's been doing badly and if it gets back to half, I'll reduce the lot size again.

Tredny Gary, I am trading EURUSD, GBPUSD, EURJPY, GBPJPY. Selected completely at random! This account I funded with only 500 dollars and it's doing OK. Will probably try upping the lot size in a new demo account and see how it fares.

The middle demo i made a mistake when i re-installed the set files after a PC failure, and forgot to n change the 1lot in the settings to something much smaller to suit the 10k demo account, like 0.1, so i got caught out on a small 10k account with full lots. Most are closed now after a margin call, so just remember that when you look at the demo stats.

Choose your pairs, and the OOTB set file on page 2 is better suited for smaller spreads. when looking at sived's pairs, some of my demos have very high spreads for GBPJPY, so you would have to make the difference between the BE and JS, proportionally larger to allow for breathing space for the trend. You dont want to get caught in whipsaws.

Then seriosly leave the demo alone and watch. Dont forget not to put the indi in the folder, otherwise you end up with buys and sells and thats not what you want.

I don't think so. It never made sense that it worked -- I think it was just a fluke that it worked for a while.

yes i stopped this as it was in-evitable that the EA would get caught in a long downward 'floater' trade that would kill the account. And it did. As long as you can correctly choose the pairs that only trade long, then you'll do well here by only running the EA, (without the indi) on those charts. OR, if you are willing to cut the losers and start on other charts/pairs that are trending north only. Too many decisions for me to make manually, but i think if one spends enough time just looking at this EA, then it just might work. Too busy or caught up with so many demos, couldnt keep an eye on this one all the time.

-the 100% winning account did not use the indi, i never loaded it as on post 1. I had changed the name and therefore the EA wasnt picking it up . I think AGT noticed first that by ignoring the indi, one could get the EA to only take buys, thats what the trick to this one was.

Let us know if you spot something we missed, by hook, or crook, this one was the best performing EA i had for a long time.

Darn right it wasn't 100% correct -- it was never intended to be a long-only EA !!!

I never dug into the code to see why it wouldn't go short. And I have no idea why it did so incredibly well on longs -- given what it was supposed to do, it "shouldn't" have done that. Maybe someday we'll dig into it and find out why it worked so well on longs, and figure out how to get it to take longs when it should, and take shorts when it should. Then we can all retire!

OK guys thanks for the update. I still think the original idea should work, but as I am not a coder I would not have a clue how to investigate it

I want to learn to code, so maybe this is the project for me.....!
