MPTM's new home

Update:

SL insertion errors happened quite alot with GBPJPY yesterday.

A thought crossed my mind this morning -> My MPTM is on a USDCHF M5 chart, and AlwaysOn set to off (coz it runs up the CPU). So maybe the problem is when USDCHF M5 does not get some ticks, other charts (e.g GBPJPY) are moving furiously. By the time the USDCHF M5 gets a quote, MPTM finds price is far gone.

So I've scrapped the workaround above (noticed also that despite closing the trade, the hedge doesn't come on right or doesn't come on at all). I have put MPTM on a GBPJPY M1 chart (high frequency ticks). I have a feeling this may solve the issue for me.

i was also having problems like this in the early days with my MPTM's and it was because i was attaching the EA to the dollar index. Steve nearly bit my leg off when i mentioned that, .
I couldnt understand why when i changed TF's , MPTM would kick in and take the positions it had missed before. Now we know.

It definately needs ticks, although Steve reckons it can go on any TF. I use it on EURUSD M1 now.

With help for your code, the only person apart from Steve that seems to really understand the code for MPTM, is Global. Maybe if you ask him for some help on the code, but i know he has his hands full at the moment.
Steve doesnt like changes to MPTM from post 1 as you will notice from his posts, but if your code works, it s always appreciated as you post your work here.

Guys, just a quick reminder that you cannot expect an ea to work properly if you do not use it as intended.

Any multi-pair trader/manager needs to be working all the time. If you rely on ticks to the chart that is hosting the software, you are riding for a fall.

And then, on top of that you place it on a chart that has three ticks a week......................words fail me. Ok, so I am exaggerating, but I am sure you get the point.

dudest, FYI there is a slightly better code for order closing. It is this:
bool result = OrderClose(OrderTicket(), OrderLots(), OrderClosePrice(), 7, CLR_NONE);

OrderClosePrice() will calculate the close price for you and saves a bit of hassle with the code.

I need help with setting MPTM for the following example. I have a basket of trades and now my profit for the whole basket is 100 EUR. I want to leave basket to open, but I also want to lock my profit -for example 50 EUR.

How can I set MPTM so that my SL would be 50 EUR?

I tried several setting (Basket trade management, Basket stop loss settings: 80;....) but It is not working?

Can anyone help me?

Hallo Steve, all,

I'm facing an issue with the Hedging functionality.

I've noticed that when CloseAtBreakEven=0, hedge trade is NOT opened (regardless of whether or not I've set HedgeTradeStopLoss and HedgeTradeTakeProfit)

When I set CloseAtBreakEven=1, hedge trade is opened OK (regardless of whether or not I've set HedgeTradeStopLoss and HedgeTradeTakeProfit)

I checked the GlobalVariables, and they were set OK

I've gone through the code (as best as I can), and I don't see anything wrong... :/

There are no errors in experts or journal tabs.

Has anyone else faced this? Is anyone running the latest MPTM with Hedging enabled and CloseAtBreakEven=0?

Hi:

For some reason I am not able to view the MPTM properties when I right click on the chart where it is running. I am certain this used to work. The problem exists on several brokers. I get the dialogue box when there are trades in process so it seems to be running. Smiley face is present.

Any suggestions?
