10.4 A Complete System

hello Bob and readers,
I see you all praising bob's way of trading but as i am new to this forum i must say i am a bit confused here. I read booklets for 10.3 and 10.4 but even if i get the taste of it is not really clear. Which TF to trade what?
The indi on first pages of thread are quite different than what i see on the charts you are posting....
Which version are you trading ?
Can you trade 4H (10.4?) long term and 1H (10.3?) short term on the same chart ?
If yes where are the latest indi ?
etc etc
I am totally lost between 10.2 10.3 10.4 the old 5.xx and now it looks like there is a 10.5 also.
Tons of different indis, time frame, how do you guys are you trading this ?

I might look like dumb for you guys following bob advices for a long time but believe me all this is a bit confusing for a newcomer.
These threads looks very interesting but i would like to know where to start and not reading tree 400 pages old threads for nothing.

Could someone summarize a bit please.

Egads. Is this guy for real? The name of the thread is 10.4. What does 10.3, 5.0, 10.0 etc. have to do with 10.4. Go read the booklet page 1 post 1. If you are still confused after reading the book you need to seriously find another career or read the book again until you do. If it still confusing and you want to learn Forex--go to babypips.com and take their course. You will then know the very basics and then try reading 10.4. 10.4 assumes you know the difference between a 4H chart and a 1H chart, moving average from MACD. If you dont know that you need to take the course.

(Btw it is true that babypips is a nice place to learn)
No offense but unlike many people i never blow up a live account
and my live account is growing , slowly maybe but growing.
Maybe i did not express myself the right way coz english is not my native language.
I don t ask what is the differences between TF or the difference between MAC and RSI 2

I just don t understand why
my charts do not looks like yours (or other on this board) despite the fact i downloaded all the templates from page 1.
Also this thread might have the title 10.4 , charts are sometimes the mention "10.5"
Why people are talking about trades on 1 hour TF when in the booklet we should look at monthly and 4H TF. Thats why i am talking about 10.3 which is for smaller TF, and in 10.3 booklet you are also talking about 10.2

This is this kind of things that confuse me not what means "pip", "timeframe", or "eurusd"

Bob thank you for that detailed explanation. This has opened my eyes to some new strategies. I did quite well last night but could have done better if I were to implement some of these ideas. I live in the US so I am usually asleep during the Euro session and sometimes that is a help because I don't mess with my trades and sometime I wake up to find that I could have made a profit but ended up giving it back, I guess that's just the way it goes. But I think this could really help maximize those winners. And yes I am short the EurCad, so I will hang on to it for now.

All I can say is that I did trade forex before coming here. I also looked at this the same way you did. Yes it looks complicated on the outside but in fact, it is really easy. If you trade forex regularly and start reading the first page from the git go, then you will have no problem either. The only way this would be tough, is if someone wanted to try to read in between the lines and not take the time to research it. The system works so take the time this weekend and read through every post here and you will be fine. However, if you dont want to take the time, then good luck to you because this man has been very generous to us all and it would be a crime not to read his work.

Sanook - Don't get your hair tangled! I am certain no one is attempting to push you off the board, so scrap that idea,

There is no substitute for simply reading the thread and finding out how 10.4 works, and why different indicators are used or preferred.

All of us here had to read it - it takes time - yes - but no one is going to read it for you.

There is no way you can emerge from the tunnel at this end of the thread with full command of the the strategy, without going into the tunnel at the beginning of the thread and doing the work that the rest of us had to do.

Having said that, there ARE people dedicated to helping you on this forum. Again - you do not seem to have done enough reading. I suggest you go here and ask questions, and I am sure you will get all your answers, plus more:

Sanook, the biggest difference between your chart and Bob's is the bottom indicator. You have the original RSI-based indicator -- RSI(2) of an underlying Slope indicator. Bob keeps experimenting and testing things, and he is currently using a stochastic-based indicator instead of RSI. Either one works, and both have their fans. I prefer the RSI version.

H1 vs. H4: H4 is the basic version Bob teaches in his 10.4 manual. But the approach works at other TFs too, and many people have been applying to H1 charts. It depends on if you want to monitor the chart all day (in which case H1 or even M15 is a good match) or if you want a slower approach that doesn't require such constant monitoring (H4 or D1).

Be aware though that one of the fundamental assumptions of 10.4 is that forex pairs trend on a high TF -- the H4 240 MA is an approximation of a 2-week MA. The lower TF you watch, the more noise you're likely to see. And you'll probably want to use a longer MA if you want an approximation of the H4 240 MA.

In this version Bob has it set up to show the 4h chart with the RSI(2) and the 1h Chart to show the Stoch all on the same chart window, just change the time frame and it will change the visible indicators. This is the version that I use. but Bob may be looking to update the stoch with the fishingnet Stoch.

Only you can sort this out for yourself:

• forget what you think you already know:
• read post 1 here.
• read the pdf in post 1.
• skim through the thread studying Bob's charts.

Take your time; this cannot be rushed.

The go to Captain Jack's thread (linked in post 1) and:

• read the first 100 pages of the thread slowly.
• pay attention to every one of CJ's charts.
• it will quickly become obvious whom the other really clever and knowledgeable contributors are; study their charts as well.
• skip to the last 20 pages pr sp tp see what has been happening more recently.

I reckon this little lot will take you a week. At the end, your thought processes and your trading will be transformed.
