I am on 30M and Gday2 picked up a few of them, but towards the end of the day when that retracement came you mentioned earlier, JPY, lost on those positions. Server time was at 14:00 GMT.
Heres a pic With all the trades of only today, completely by the EA and no interferences. My BE and JS settings are 20/10 and 20 with addBE=false.

The DD on the platform is from another EA and not because of GDAY 2 , please DO NOT look at the DD in relation to Gday2 , i'm just trying somethings out on the demo, but showing are only results from Gday 2 for the day.

Cuz,

I am sorry about the DD which occurred soon after release of US unemployment report at 1.30 pm UK time.

I had stopped trading in the morning, but when I saw the retracement, I just could not resist entering pending orders on the daily pivots again and managed to get a good return.

It is very difficult to trade with ea and let it ride high impact news. Some would say such news does not matter, however, I would not trade around such news as NFP, RELEASE OF FOMC MINUTES, US UNEMPLOYMENT REPORT, BOE SETTING INTEREST RATES, ECB SETTING INTEREST RATES. No doubt I do miss some profits when price moves in the right direction, but it is a bit of a lottery, for me it is not worth it.

Having said that, if one is trading a higher time frame like D1 with a big stop loss, the such news should not matter so much.

For the yen pairs, my SL is the 960 LWMA on H1 time frame, so unless the move is very large, it should not stop out the trade. The trick is to trade small lots and a big stop loss. Right now, if the yen trend continues, the 960 LWMA stop should be safe.

Better luck next time.

Cheers,
peter

Cuz,

One more thing. With the yen trend continuing, I would expect the DD to disappear soon.

The yen pairs are slavishly following the Dow Jones at present. If I see the Dow taking a dive, that would give me a few extra seconds to decide whether to close my profitable trades or not.

Thanks Peter,
thats 3 very good points right there.

Demoing helps us to learn the tricks of the trade, and hope to remember next time we in the predicament.

I received an email from one of my live acct crims today, expecting the yen to continue to weaken and the sign will be if it breaks the 100 mark on UJ. Guestimates send it to the 110-120 area. Rather large difference between 110 and 120, but thats what the email indicated.
If true, its another massive jump, either target.

Cuz,

I will continue to short the yen until the yen pairs break below the 240 LWMA on H4. If Bob is correct, the trend may continue for months.

I hope he is right, and we can continue to ride the trend for as long as possible. Someone says it's like shooting fish in a fish bowl. I could not agree more. So far .......................

GDAY demo from last night (trades still open)

audjpy minus 127 pips

nzdusd minus 65 pips

Both were caught by the sharp retracement today.

Happy with 370 pips! In a negative float of 74 pips as of market close. The % increase is not impressive because trading too small for a 30k demo acct....

The market is not closed yet - just your crim. GP is still cranking in the quotes.

Bit of a shame in some ways - my basket is hovering around the -700 mark. Hey ho.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.
