The big boys ish have to disclose their trades for the week, on a Tuesday.

The commercials are the main people.

They might be the major players but you must remember that they are futures trading. That means that they are prepared to take a position today, then sit tight for along time.

This time is unknown.

From memory, they are massively net short on EURCAD for many weeks( long before the BOJ event). But the recent daily events have put the COT commercial traders on the back burner.

Yes, they will eventually get their way but the speculators will control PA on a daily basis., through either announcements and/or technicals.

Don't rely on COT to be the crystal ball.

10.4 is a better method on transferring pips from your broker to you.

(For the records... they are net long on gold and oil)

I would be net long gold too this week. Put some money in gold and let it sit awhle. Sooner or later it will rise back above 1400

Gold is just now touching the 61.8 retracement, and is $35 short of a 50% retrace.

Both levels are key turning points to be respected ... but we shall see soon enough.
Just adds interest to the mix - I think gold is under more pressure than fibs at the moment.

At the end of the the day it is a very liquid commodity, and like other commodities it can get sold down when cash is required - only faster ... and even more so because of the sentiment/emotion/myths and belief systems built around it.

The real way to trade gold is to see it as a chart ... like the XXXUSD ... or XXXJPY.

Trade what you see. Just a view. I'm looking on.

New update to Bob's post collection in Post #1 of the Dummies thread . Just added about 45 more pages, sorry I got behind, just a little busy. I hope this is proving useful.

Well retracement or not, as long as there is pips to be earn why not? Got about 60pips off the table and another at 30pips, with BE set, let's see how it goes, no hurry anyway

Quite strange, yen and gold seem to be moving in complete opposite direction, xxxyen pairs gold down, xauusd also goes down
