Dear programmers and expert coders!
I have a very interesting and potentially very profitable project - creating a Dashboard for my newest system "Babon". I need a programmer who would code it for free. It is not about the money, but in the past I've found time and time again that if the programmer is really interested in the project, if he is so interested that is willing to work for free, he does much better job.
As far as I understand the links to ForexFactory (btw, today I left ForexFactory for good) are not welcome here, but if anybody is interested, please PM me, and I'll give you the links and answer all the questions.
And, of course, you can always look at my ForexFactory's profile - my last seven posts contain all the information about my system "Babon".
Thank you!
For this particular Dashboard we have two indicators: TMA (for M1) and Ichimoku (for M1).
Ichimoku has default settings.
TMA's HalfLength is 20 (it is very important), all other settings are default.
Ichimoku is a part of Metatrader4, and I uploaded TMA here.
TMA has three lines: upper border, center line and lower border.
We need two kinds of signals: first alert and final alert.
VERY IMPORTANT: we create this Dashboard ONLY for M1. I know that this pattern works perfectly on M1 and I don't want to be responsible for the losses that people would have if they try it on the bigger timeframes!
Let's say our TMA is going up. The upper border is already above the Ichimoku cloud. We want the Dashboard to show the first alert when the TMA's center line goes above the Ichimoku cloud.
If the center line goes above the Ichimoku cloud and stays there after the minute candle is closed, then we show in the Dashboard the yellow arrow pointing up. On the right side of this arrow we show the label that says something like "30 degrees" or "40 degrees". This label must show the angle between the TMA's center line and the horizontal line at this moment, and this figure must change every time the angle changes. What is very important - when we first draw this yellow arrow, we also show a pop-up window saying "ATTENTION! GbpJpy CENTER LINE alert!" (or whatever the currency is). And the pop-up window must have a sound too! But we show this pop-up window only once!
How do we calculate the angle for the label? Point A is where our center line crossed the cloud. Point B is where the edge of the center line is right now. We draw the line between point A and point B and we find the angle between this line and the horizontal line.
So we have in the dashboard a yellow arrow pointing up and a label that shows the changing angle. If for some reason the center line goes into Ichimoku cloud and stays there after the munute candle is closed - then the arrow and the label must disappear. But we don't have to show pop-up window for this.
But if everything goes right and after the first alert the lower border of the TMA goes above the cloud too - we must show the final alert. We show the final alert changing the yellow arrow to the black arrow. When the lower border goes above the cloud and stays there after the minute candle is closed - we decide that the pattern has been formed completely and we change the yellow arrow pointing up to the black arrow pointing up. And we keep changing the figure in the label, showing the angle between the TMA center line and the horizontal line. At the moment we change the yellow arrow to the black arrow, we show (just once too) the pop-up window saying "ATTENTION! EurJpy FINAL alert!" (or whatever the currency is). And the pop-up window must have a sound too!
And when the upper border goes into the Ichimoku cloud and stays there after the munute candle is closed - then the black arrow and the label must disappear.
Everything is the same with TMA going under the cloud. The difference is: we show for the first alert the yellow arrow pointing down and for the final alert black arrow pointing down.
I want to make the Dashboard as visual as possible. If the trader checked the signal and didn't like it or if he opened this currency chart and started watching it but doesn't want to be confused with the new signals and the old signals, he must have some way to show it in the Dashboard too.
So every time we draw the yellow arrow or the black arrow I want on the left side of this arrow to show a red circle. This red circle must be clickable, if the trader clicked on it, it must disappear. This way the trader would see: the signals he didn't paid any attention yet have the red circle, and the signals he already checked don't have this red circle. Of course if we make the yellow or the black arrow disappear (because TMA went back to the cloud) we must make the red circle for this currency disappear too.
I'd like to have as the default pairs for this Dashboard the following pairs (in this order):
EurJpy
GbpJpy
EurUsd
GbpUsd
AudUsd
NzdUsd
UsdCad
GbpChf
And I'd like to be able to change and/or add pairs.
If you have any questions I'll be glad to answer any question via PM in details.
I understand that it is a huge job, and if you feel that it is above your head - that's OK. But if you take this job and create the Dashboard this way - we'll have a unique, incredibly powerful tool that would bring huge profits easily, and I swear it's gonna be worth your while!
UPDATE MAY 2, 2013
Since people are interested in this my system and going to ForexFactory to read the Summary is not the best way, I uploaded the Summary and templates/indicators, attached them to this post. So to have the complete system all you have to do is to download Babon The Final Summary Part 1.rar, Babon The Final Summary Part 2.rar and BabonTemplatesIndicators.rar
Good Luck!
UPDATE MAY 2, 2013.
Great news! Dietmar (forextrader-radioman) converted my Babon-Summary Word files into PDF files, so now we can enjoy all the convenience of the PDF books!
Dietmar, thank you so very much!

Hi Favorite,
Have read most of the relevant posts at FF looks really interesting maybe you should post some charts here to demonstrate how profitable the system is.
I've looked in real time and looks pretty good to me.
Cheers,
Eamonn.

Hi Eamonn!
I'm glad that you liked it. The system is very profitable, but the problem is:
1). I'm a full-time professional trader and my principle is: I never show my statements, my "monitoring" or any other "proof" to anybody.
2). Even if I decide to "prove" something, that would be very difficult to do. I trade M1, for me it is impossible to create a different account (even a demo account) that would show only "naked pattern" trades. Being a M1 trader, I trade only one account and I trade it using 3 different systems, one of them - "Babon".
3). I used to trade EurJpy only, now I added GbpJpy, but I usually have only one trade open. That means that any account would show that I took some EurJpy trades and I ignore other EurJpy trades because I traded GbpJpy at the time.
My winning rate with Babon naked pattern trading is very high, I think almost 95%, but to prove it I would have to stop trading real money, create a demo account for this pattern only and trade this demo account for several months... I don't think it is a good idea.
So if any programmer is really interested but wants "the proof" - I'm sorry, I can't provide any and I won't provide any.
Here are 4 trades that I took today, three EurJpy and one GbpJpy, together 50 pips.

Re: Coder needed for an interesting project!
And that's exactly why "Babon naked pattern trading" needs this Dashboard!Favorite wrote:I used to trade EurJpy only, now I added GbpJpy
Trading M1 it is almost impossible to watch more than 3-4 different currencies, and watching even only 3-4 currencies is very stressful.
Another thing: not all setups with this pattern are created equal! Some setups are much better than the others, it depends on the H1's big picture, M1 Price Action AND (it is very important) on the TMA M1's angle (which I want to show in this Dashboard).
So having 8-10 currencies in the Dashboard would mean that we would have at least 1-2 good setups at almost any time, and that when we have several good setups at the same time we would be able to choose the best one!

Re: Coder needed for an interesting project!
Babon naked pattern trading also allows to catch pretty big moves too. In this trade I took a little more than 50 pips and could go even further because TMA M1's angle is still pretty good. I exited because for me 50 pips in one trade is a lot and I already met my daily goal. After I exited the price went another 20 pips up.Favorite wrote:Here are 4 trades that I took today, three EurJpy and one GbpJpy, together 50 pips.
So, guys, I showed some samples, if anybody is interested he can find many dozens of trades in my FF summary.
Now it's up to you.

I don't think you have to prove anything. But in situations like this, the question in my mind is always: "Great, it's profitable & 95% for you. But can anybody ELSE follow your strategy successfully, or is 90% of the 'success magic' between your ears?"Favorite wrote:I'm glad that you liked it. The system is very profitable, ...

In at least 99% of the cases I've encountered in the last 15 years, the guy who says "This is a simple strategy, just do X Y & Z" doesn't really KNOW what he's doing. In reality he's applying dozens or hundreds of additional rules and qualifiers without realizing it. If you follow his rules exactly you generally lose money. So you show him and he says "Well you shouldn't have taken THAT trade!" But it met your X Y Z rules... "Well yes, but don't you see the Q and R?" OK, add Q and R to the rules. "You should have taken this trade here!" Why? That doesn't meet X Y Z! "But there's a P! You always trade P's!" And round and round you go.
So... do you really think you can describe what you REALLY do in this approach? Or is this something that only you can trade?

I'm not going to run a trading system's thread here, I opened this thread not because I wanted to teach people how to trade my system (it is very time consuming) but because I wanted to find a good programmer who would code this Dashboard.
But you can take a look at the FF thread where I really was teaching my system. There are dozens of traders who trade my system very successfully, they post their trades and their results, some of the results are as good as mine, a couple of the traders there even showed the statements.
On the other hand every time (and I mean EVERY time) when somebody in the thread showed the loss (it doesn't happen often, but it does happen, mostly to the newbies) I explained in details which particular rule of the system was broken. And all the trades I show (and all the trades I take) are according to ALL the rules, and I do ask the followers to follow ALL the rules! And as I said, every time somebody shows the loss - he broke the rule. The system is pretty simple, the number of the rules is not very big, but you have to follow all of them. I formulated the rules on March 25 and never changed them and never added any new rules, the only thing I changed since then is SL, I made it smaller.
That's priceless!garyfritz wrote:In at least 99% of the cases I've encountered in the last 15 years, the guy who says "This is a simple strategy, just do X Y & Z" doesn't really KNOW what he's doing.
