What's your secret to manage them ?
What are your tips and tricks ?
Please feel free to post anything that could help us.
It's been said so much times, that in the banking institutions or even commodities groups, the traders do consume cocaine on a regular basis. Do you think that's to shut their emotions down (this little voice that could push them to take a position even if all confitions aren't met) ?
or maybe to kill all the stress they get in the open space (due to competition etc...) ?
Personally, I think we should be trading only if we feel mentally good. If we're not ready to fight the market, we could take bad decisions.
To have a perfect mental I would split the conditions into two parts :
- Long Term : We need to feel good in our body, so to practice on regular basis a sport and healthy food.
- Short Term : we need to get rid of the daily disturbances/hassles. No way to avoid them, they're part of the life .. it all depends on their degree of importance .. but I'd say, setting up a nice working area could help (ex.: sweet music) anything that could help us to focus on the market and only on it. I'm convinced that yoga / relaxation could significantly us in this task.
Having sex before taking any position will for sure relax one, but it's difficult to always have someone close to the computer and willing to help !
Well, by reading what I've just written, I realize that personally I'm faaaar from meeting all those conditions .. but I do work on them, it's a long path ! Kind of hard to do ...
The reason also I've posted this thread under the MM menu, is that by trading with a small risk (ie good MM) , we proportionally reduce the amount of stress !
Less stress, better decisions.
