Rob, i will look into the opening a new trade in opposite direction function.

Anyone opposed to me removing the Stoch filter? I personally find the ATR a better filter from tests but if anyone is using it i will leave it in, just trying to remove extra bits i added during testing with Rob.

I am looking into reducing cpu overhead by adding synergy into EA, i need to do thorough testing to make sure i dont break anything in the process so this will be a major release.

That is a lot of charts, my pc seems to just about work with 6 open!

It looks like several valid trade signals were sent at the same time, the default is to try 10 times so after that it gives up. I have now put 50, which means after 5s it will give up which i think should be more than enough. The only way round this i think is to try and write a multipair trader so that each trade will be staggered one after another. I dont plan to do this until we find a combination of settings that work consistently and are sure it is worth the effort.

Here is a new version i am testing, it sets different magicnumbers and tradecomments automatically so i can recompile and not have to manually enter as i am just testing EU on different timeframes these are set in init(). I have done some changes in the candelsticktrailingstop routine and made the number of retires a user input now set to 50. I have also turned off time settings so trading 24hrs. For reference i am running on a Std Bully Pepperstone demo account.

Please try it but NOT on a live account as still a beta version.

Edit: small update i have added a MinATR1 to the ATRFilter as i noticed trades still happening with low ATR. Redownload demo version

This latest version isn`t working in strategytester!

Maybe it`s good to add the hanover option, so if people want to use it they can, and if they don`t want to use it they turn it off!

I believe that is a data error, not an EA issue.

If you run it visually it is the ATR filter not working correctly in ST! I'm trying to fix at the mo but it doesnt seem to want to work! turn off UseATRFilter and it then works.

I've been wanting to look into using the semaphore capability of global variables to "lock" the trading thread so that only one EA can access it at a time. Actually, I was looking at the semaphores for a different reason, but thought it would apply here.

The good folks at mql4.com agree with me and have already written an article with code to accomplish this. Would you like to take a crack at it for ChangeTheColor or would you like me to look at adding it to the shell? The article is a good read either way: http://articles.mql4.com/141

I read this article earlier on and thought it might be worth a try, been busy testing other things up to now. If i run with the ATR filter on H1 for last day it works! Yet i have data til last November, i opened a new Empty4 for testing purposes. Very strange.

Anyway, feel free to have a go at this. I'll make a start for this EA to test the concept now and see where we get to between us.

Ok, this version has the code recommended by George added to it. I cannot test it as i need valid trades and the ATR filter is stopping any at the moment! It you get no trades in ST it is the ATR filter not working correctly, it seems to be a bug in Empty4 as there is plenty of history and still wont report the ATR value correctly so this is stopping the trading. This only effects back testing not forward testing.
