Tempted to hold JPY positions this weekend. Could be a nice gap up on sunday as last week, but Bernake speaking tomorrow scares me... I don´t know yet if I´ll do...

I just closed out the last positions in the basket I was building and letting grow for the last several weeks. My $25k demo is up 15% since 4/26. That's nowhere near some of you guys, but I'd be delirious with it if I thought I could do it consistently. But most of those gains came from riding the extraordinary AUD move. Over 90% of my profits came from positions in AUDCAD, AUDCHF, AUDNZD, AUDUSD, and EURAUD, and GBPAUD. I need to see some "normal" market conditions to see how I do then!

Yeah, it helps, but modern computers don't rely much on Ghz but on multi-cores, and Empty4 sucks at that as it only uses one processor.nicoacademia wrote: actually a faster processor helps. or i think helps.
I am also using a ton of charts and Empty4 also chugs along when changing charts or even timeframe (but somehow brokers's feed also influence that, as I have several Empty4 open in several demo accounts and it behaves better in some). Sometimes it just sit there, thinking, and checking the Task Manager it says that it's using only 12-13% of CPU power (I have a 4-core machine and use hyper-thread, so it's like 8 cores). It sucks seeing Empty4 chugging along and only using a fraction of the CPU power available.

Me to with the similar move against JPY a few weeks ago. This week, I took nothing at all as the CSS-calculated values were moving towards one another, so trading looked like a bad idea.garyfritz wrote:I just closed out the last positions in the basket I was building and letting grow for the last several weeks. No "maybe" for me! At least not unless I built and tested a system to call trades for me. I've never been successful at manual trading. This 10.4 experiment has been very exciting. I wish I thought I could do as well when the market is normal...SteveHopwood wrote:Maybe we are just rubbish traders.![]()

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
Hey all, Down about 4 % this week staying in over the weekend. GBP/CAD has spiked through the 240 as I expected, however, it has formed a Bearish Engulfer and come back thru. Added another sell @ 1.5648 so now we ride it for awhile.
As for the EUR/GBP, I took most profit off at the Weekly Mid. Pair has formed a lower low, ( Very good sign of continuing trend ), and started to retrace a bit. Will wait for the indy to show OB and will sell again.
G/J still has not come back enough to warrant another buy so patience is a virtue.

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
Here is the final version of the 10.4 info page. I am writing the PDF for it now. When I am done then it will go on page 1. I thank Baluda for all the time and effort to make this work. The main comments on how to use it are on the info page. Put the 1 template in the template folder and the INDIES in the indicator folder. There is a pic of what it should look like. Just in case I dont get the paper finished at least you have the info page and basic interpretations.
Put the template on a pair you are trading like the eur/chf which I dont trade very much. You can have eur/chf twice on your chart. One for trading and one for the info page. I used to put it on a non trading pair but then the indie will include the pair in its calculations. It is important you go to your window called market watch and delete any exotic pairs you are not trading or dont want the indie to use in its calculations. Even if you only trade 5 pairs you still want the indie to view all the pairs of the 8 major currencies so you get the general market feel and see how the market is affecting the pairs you trade. I used to use eur/dkk on my chart but now I delete it so it doesnt affect the figures. I dont have cad/chf or nzd/cad to trade so they are not included in my calculations but they maybe on your broker so there will be some slight differences form broker to broker.
I wanted to very much finish my booklet this weekend but with new appointments and visitors I realize now I may not. Anyway this will give you the basics and a simple understanding of the info page. Good luck.

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
But it was a normal week if you know where to go look. You hit aud weakness, I took a lot of USD strength and added gbp strength late in the week. Took some aud and nzd weakness early in the week. The week before I struck it good on JPY weakness and Cad strength. Every week some currency or two will be strong or weak. If you find them you can have success week in and week out. What you are really saying is will I find what is moving next week like I did this week. That is what CSS is all about finding out where the moves are going to be. Once you know that it will be like taking candy from a baby. So this was a normal week. Every week some pair will pop out above/below the rest and you will know where to go trade. D1 for long term H4 for shorter term. So your real question should be, what currency group will be strong and what group will be weak and then go trade. You will find the same success almost every week this way.garyfritz wrote:I just closed out the last positions in the basket I was building and letting grow for the last several weeks.
