From my experience theres something between candles that has an influence on a trader decisions at the end. I am silent follower of Steve Hopwood for 5 years and I saw and test a lot of sucessful systems translated into a code which were loosers as a robot at the end..
Leaving aside trader intuition and experience (and that is a bit like leaving aside the approaching lava flow) here is another dreadful possibility. Market conditions change all the time. It takes time for a trader to develop and test a system and find it successful. By the time said trader has made profits and feels it is safe to release the system to others via a forum such as this one or FF, market conditions are already starting to change. By the time someone like me codes an EA to trade it, the market has moved against the strategy and the EA fails.
Take the dreaded 'news' as an example. 12 months ago, and all the time I have been involved with Forex up until a few months ago, 'the news' was a dreaded affair. News inspired spikes caused chaos. Traders would cease trading for hours leading up to a 'major news release'. Nowadays, news releases raise barely a blip on the charts. Even the once awe-inspiring NFP raises hardly a gnat's fart in market blip terms.
Once upon a time, the adrenalin rush of maintaining a brace of pending trades on either side of a major news release and overcoming the gazillion pips spread when a trade triggered would bring with it a decent number of pips profit. Nowadays, anybody going in for this behaviour needs certifying. Both pending trades are going to be filled and likely hit their stops at considerable loss.
In 6 months time? Who knows. Might be back to business as usual, might not. Maybe now
is business as usual.
What I can say is this; if a trading system has the ability to stand the test of time, then so does the EA that trades it; if not, then the EA stands no chance. No idea which of these the Doc's system is. I am naturally suspicious because a number of thingies have to line up before a trade is sent. To me, there are 4 thingies too many, but what do I know?
At least most of Doc's thingies are not pretty-coloured thingies. Pretty-coloured thingies are invariably custom indi's that are of themselves merely a pointless agglomeration of existing indis within the same custom indi. All they really achieve is slowing the machine to a crawl. Go past two pretty-coloured thingies needing to line up and I lose interest instantly.
Not entirely sure what point I am making here - rather thinking aloud I feel. Make of it what you may and ignore me if you feel I am being an idiot.

Read the effing manual, ok?
