If I was forced to choose only one indi of the system and quit all the others, I´ll keep RSI2 (+240). You can trade without pivots, css, etc, but RSI2 is a must have.
I absolutely 100% agree with you on this and is pretty much how I trade now.. Still use pivots to guide me TP and SL wise, rarely look at CSS nowadays. I appreciate that whilst trending this is good and will get stopped out on a reversal but that would equate to a small loss after lots of wins so happy to do so.

Could you use CSS for determing which pairs are NOT moving?
H4 and H1 gives a more immediate picture once RSI gives a 'signal'.
I never know whether its luck or a brilliant system but in the past I would never have attempted to catch a falling knife like AUD/JPY yesterday, it turned into the flyer of the week. The system so often flies in the face of all MMM commentary and especially your gut. Who pointed out here they don't even look at news or opinion anymore, just wait for the indies to do their job and place your trades.

I must say i have never had a problem before, but you realize how much you depend on this stuff when you don't have it. does anyone run a back up platform?
Hi Totty,

FXCM recently experienced tech issues that affected our Empty4 clients. Some traders were unable to log into Empty4 while others may have experienced freezing as you described. If you had a live trade that was negatively impacted by these tech issues, please note the rate at which you tried to exit the trade and submit an audit. The audit forms can be found below.

- FXCM LLC (US) Trade Audit Form
- FXCM LTD (UK) Trade Audit Form

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Jason
Jason, as I get glued to the screen when I have trades on I was just catching up with this thread, thank you very much for the response, I was not exposed on your platform during the 'freezing' periods. As I mentioned I have had no prior issues with FXCM, I thought I was lucky in choosing you out of the myriad platforms out there after I read the various horror stories. Who are you by the way and what do you do?
Great to have you anyway, if I may ask one technical question, I have a solid state laptop en route with bells and whistles, a few here have set up secondary accounts/platforms to run the INFO page as it is accused of chewing up the processor, if I do that with FXCM and its not a live account will it expire periodically.
Again, great platform, I took today off but it looked like it was still a bit 'crunchy' last night, I just noticed the Kb counter in the bottom right corner, it still isn't ramping up very quickly.
Sorry for the non 10.5 post everyone.

I do occasionally look but mostly out of interest.

If price is below 240, RSI goes above 98 I put a sell order in at WP or WR which ever is nearest, SL is next pivot above and TP is next pivot below. If price is already above WP then I take the trade as soon as the RSI goes above 98. I do the reverse for buy orders.

A classic example of this working very well this week.
USD/CHF 10th June, at 0400 RSI went above 98 or RSI. When I got to my charts at 0800 price was going up towards WP. I put a sell order in on the WP, got triggered shortly after. SL was WR1 180 pips away, price never even got close. TP was WS1 some 220 pips away, TP two days later.

Very easy and profitable way of trading, I find you will get greater drawdown than if you use the CSS and wait for the goldenrod but you also get in a lot quicker and for a greater return. If you do not like drawdown then use the CSS and wait for the goldenrod to indicate price really has changed direction in your favour.

Check the CSS indicator for all of that information, Totty.

When you open up the Slope Strength page/chart, it's all at the top.

Read it.

Do you use limit orders most often?

Yes mostly unless price is on a WP or north of it if selling, south of it if buying. Sometimes I'll put a limit order close to the WP if it looks like price may not go that far.

One example of a stock trade is the GBP/CAD, price hit WP, RSI at below 2, no idea where CSS is as I do not have it on my chart, I put a buy order in on WP, currently at +74 pips with SL now at break even, I do that when price goes +50 pips in my direction.

Hi, Zennor

We are trading in a very similar way. CSS avoids DD but makes you enter a bit too late in the trade. At the end of the day, if you considerer bigger profits from non CSS vs. smaller DD from CSS the numbers could be very close.

I choose the entries with RSI2 4h crossing 80/20 lines and some chart reading (I wait for a retrace trendline being broken)

I prefer to put the SL in the previous swing H/L instead of the previous pivot. No longer using 240 for SL.

Another rule for me is: don´t buy beyond WR1, don´t sell beyond WS1. You´ll surely lost big moves but that´s the price for safety.

Very interesting - basically you are only using MA for direction and RSI flatline for entry - do you only use the H4 chart? Thanks for sharing...

I hear you on the SL recent swings and sometimes I will go there but mostly I'll take a pivot.

Spain? Where in Spain do you live? I live near Guardamar, Costa Blanca.
