I don't believe in MA crosses as they will always lag. Sure you can use the MA's on higher time-frames with some success but for me I have much better results using other techniques...

I follow the D20-50 thread on FF when I have time, which generates some astonishing results... By all accounts, the two systems are very similar and "created" by the same person... TCO coded an EA for the D20-50 (which can also trade the TSS as far as I understand) and he has a thread here http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... f=5&t=2458, so that would be a likely place to discuss this strategyRecently I have been following a great thread (yes, they do exist despite the bias) on FF called "Third Screen Strategy" - I would like to see something similar here on SHF.

Question to Gary. I think you probably know the answer. Here it goes: what if MA is adaptable in this sense, that it determines the cycle length or frequency, and adjusts its period upon it?garyfritz wrote:Simple answer: MA crosses tend to work well in trending markets, i.e. markets that move for a long way in one direction. They tend to work crappy in ranging markets -- unless the market moves happen to "sync" with the natural "resonant frequency" of the MA cross.......
Thanks!
