Suggestion with forum organization

Hi all,

Don't you think that it would be better if there weren't so much nesting on the forums?

Rookies section -> Two another section -> 2 Topics
Advanced section -> Two another section -> 10 or so topics

I know that this is usually done to keep the forum more organized but when the forum is starting, too much subforums makes browsing or moving along the forum very slow.

Have to organise it somehow. I have chosen what I have chosen because I chose it. Had to choose something.

There are two alternatives:

• 1) Smaller list of opening forums with associated sub-forums.
  2) Long list of opening forums without associated forums.

Everybody hates one of the alternatives. I have gone for the one I prefer. That is the advantage of being a power-crazed mod.

Suggestion for forum layout.

Just 2 little suggestions:

Any chance of attachments having a date/time they are attached.

Can posts be numbered in each thread & displayed, or is the numbering only across the whole board.

I have looked a few times for these features but they do not appear to be available - for sure,I cannot find them.

The software used to create this forum is 'phpbb'. Do a Google search and see if you can find something that will enable the features you are looking form.
