I have the EA to trade in Empty4 a long time. It is also a short of tool EA that is very flexible and I can set it in infinite ways that is pips base in multiple pairs (individually in each chart but when combine by magic creates the strategy).

That is what I paid to have coded for Jforex in java to be able to backtest. But in the case of Jforex is One EA that I can input up to 8 pairs... I can use 8 magics and have each pair to do their own thing with their own sl, tp, global profits etc.... or I can place 2 or more in one magic to make one basket. etc.

Hallo Neo,

Which way did you decide to go with the backtesting? :)

I'd really love to reliably backtest different versions of ForexRobot, and I honestly donno where to start...

I am also posting this in the FR thread...

Cheers

Isn't there a way to feed Empty4 tick and price info in a fast way, like a data feed on steroids, to do backtesting? Sort of mirror a live feed... I don't know what the data stream includes, if there is no time and/or date then it wouldn't work of course.

Earlier it was posted that:

Gary made a good proposal with a testing library/framework that would also be capable of testing MTF and MP Strategies. But it is still in the Brainstorming Phase...

Wondering if any progress has been made on this?

Also looking for feedback on an idea I am toying with as I need to test MTF on Multi-Pairs, and would like to do so in Empty4.

What if i ran a series of scripts to capture the variables of interest and exported to a csv file. I would end up with a number of files, one per pair per TF. Do you think i could then call on these files in the Strategy Tester and run a BT effectively giving me what I want. Or am i wasting my time trying?

Thx in advance.
Fred
