Got it.

Several months ago, I broke the JS and TS functions as independent thingies, and could not work out how - still cannot. I then established that it was necessary to enforce BE before allowing JS/TS to kick in.

I used my shell code to create BASA. Somehow, sometime recently, I broke the enforced link between BE and JS/TS. Any of you guys using my shell to create your own auto-traders need to be aware of this.

Breaking the link meant this happened:

• BASA sent the trade, either with the correct 100 pip sl or if ecn with a subsequent mod.
• BASA then looked at the trade, found that the market was more than JS x 2 pips above the sl, and so added the JS of 50 to the sl.

Well dragged-up thingies, my bots. Always do exactly what they are told to do. Just not very bright.

V 1c with BE/JS/TS links restored is in post 1, with the fix.

Tiny glitches apart (and if you have been with me from my early days, you will know the difference between tiny and major glitches ) I am loving the way this bot has started out.

Early days I know Shelley, but we both know how many of my bots hit the skids on day one. This looks really promising. Looks like you came up with another good-un.

Ok, my overnight update & observations...


AUDCAD - trade stopped out early with EA issues, but would be sitting around a + 168 pips with JS at +150pips (looks likely it will/would have been stopped out at the 150 pips mark)

CADCHF - sell trade taken yesterday, still in play, currently +23 pips with BE+2 set

EURCAD - buy trade taken yesterday, still in play, currently +31 pips with BE+2 set

EURUSD - missed re-entry trade yesterday would have closed at BE+2 trade

GBPAUD - 2 trades taken yesterday (both closed at approx -50 pips each due to SL problem), if left to run the first trade would have closed at BE+2, the 2nd trade would have closed at JS +200 pips.
Now something else weird is happening...as I am typing a buy trade has just been taken (Broker time 21:27)

GBPNZD - Potential trade identified last night was taken, trade closed at BE+2, BUT I've just noticed again, a 2nd trade was taken at broker time 15:51. This trade is still open, currently at +38 with BE+2 set.

GBPUSD - This was just a dirty trade, set up was ideal...just went completely the wrong way & stopped out at -100. Sometimes this will happen!

Re that strange gbpaud buy, let's make sure which trading method is being used.

V 1d is in post 1, with separate trade comments for Main and Re-entry trades.

V 1e is in post 1.

BASA was drawing a stop loss line at the sl and this was causing problems with the JS function if PipsHiddenFromCriminal = 0.

The spread calculation routine is a recent one and I noticed a couple of bloops that was derailing the recalculation that takes place every 500 ticks.

Fixed both of these thingies in 1e.

V 1e is in post 1. You do not need it if you already have V 1d and all your indicators are correctly named.

fxdaytrader sent me a pm today with code snippets to allow BASA to warn a user when there is a custom indicator missing and to stop the ea from running. Thanks Marc; that is a brilliant contribution.
