Re: Bob and Shelley Again
It is quite possible for 1 currency (read economy) to be 'stronger' and 'weaker' at the same time, depending on which currency's you're comparing it too.MrLong wrote:Why would you buy the cad and the on another trade, sell the cad?AUDCAD - anyone who wasn't stopped out earlier in the week with the SL glitch, should now have their JS at +250 pips

CADCHF - 'Main' Sell trade taken (entry was correct), price moved to +51 pips but a spike took the trade out at BE +2

We are trading how each currency (economy) relates to each other, not how 1 currency (eg CAD in this example) trades against the rest of the world as a whole.
So with the AUDCAD trade the position of the MA's tell us we are in a downtrend. That is the AUD is currently the weaker of these 2 currencies (economies), so we sell.
With CADCHF, the MA's tell us we are in an uptrend, ie CAD is currently the stronger of these 2 currencies(economies), now we buy...this has absolutely nothing to do with AUD. What the AUD is doing will not influence my decision in trading CADCHF, there is just no relevance.
The relationship between every currency is unique to that pair except for a few correlated pairs, say like AUD, NZD or EUR & GBP and even then only to a point.

Re: Bob and Shelley Again
I think (read hope) it's possible that this strategy will perform well in established trending markets, but right now where trading volumes are down and markets are quite choppy I'm quite happy to take a fair share of BE+2's with the chance to bag the occasional sustained run such as the audcad trade.SteveHopwood wrote: I have a lot of similar trades with lots of +2. Still in the AC with 250 locked in. Haven't been in +250 before that I can recall.
Basic strategy looking really good. That usdcad trade on my live Cowboy Cowboy IBFX account closed at +2.
My goal is to get through to September with a small positive increase in account balance (between 2-5%), taking all trades on offer according to the rules, if that can be achieved I think there is a real possibility of some ongoing success with this strategy.

CADJPY buy trade taken
More trades to come tonight I think and possibly our first good look at some re-entry trades after some healthy retracements.

by me it took the EURJPY trade and didn't took the CADJPY. It seems that by AlpariUK the last candle close was just a little bit below the 60 MA

This will happen at times, different brokers will have different feeds and therefore slightly different results. I am trading on Global Prime.juliank wrote:

As it turns out, BASA took the EurJpy trade at the next candle (currently +24 pips), so I would expect yours was a much better entry.
My CadJpy trade is +33 pips with BE +2 set.
