Coding for beginners - this is how Steve started

Hey guys.

I see a number of people here wanting to get more involved with coding. This sounds like An Excellent Plan to me.

Attached is the stuff I used to get started. The contents of the zip are freely available on the net, so I am sure CodersGuru will not mind.

This entire forum, and every piece of software I have ever coded for Forex trading has its origins in info provided by the lessons in the zipfile.

My/our warmest appreciation to CodersGuru.

Huge help!!

I am trying to track down lesson 12. In your zip file, lesson 11 and 12 are the some pdf (lesson 11)... I am on forex-tsd trying to find it, but if you have it handy and can update the zip it would be even easier!

Great that you have gained so much from them - they are fabulous. As you come to grips with this stuff more and more, you will find you even begin to understand the mql4 documentation. Well, mostly.

I have actually been able to aaaallllmmmooost figure out all of George's MillerScore indi!

Makes me excited. I feel progress!

I have a favour to ask. I uploaded the CodersGuru's zip that I have. You discovered that there are missing bits and then found said missing bits.

For the benefit of all who follow In Our Intrepid Footsteps, could you combine the two into a codersguru zip that can go into post 1, please. Who knows how many people you will help into the future as the long years pass.......................

As to the order manipulation stuff, coding it is easy. It is defeating CratT4 that is the tough bit. I would say my usual, "Have fun" but beating Empty4 is not fun.

It will be bloody satisfying when we do it, though.

Probably just in time for the enforced use of CrapT5. By then, I hope we will all be wealthy enough to be able to buy a decent trading platform.

I am also uploading 2 other help docs I came across. (Actually everything came from the FF link posted above.)

I hope it is as helpful to everyone else as it has been to me, a virtual non-coder. (I only have real experience with some very very large Excel projects. Amazing how working with the logic structure of complex expressions in Excel really help with other coding examples!!)
