Connect failed [Old version]

I have an Cowboy IBFX demo account that I haven't opened for a few months. Not too surprising, it seems to have expired and I can't log into it now. No big loss.

But I can't get it to log into a new account, either. I create a new demo account, do File -> Login, and enter the new login credentials, and in the Journal tab it says "connect failed [Old version]." If I exit Empty4 and re-enter, it loads up the indicators from my previous charts, says "connect failed [Old version]," and if I try to log in again, nothing happens -- no messages in the Journal tab, no reaction at all.

I thought Empty4 was supposed to auto-update as soon as you connected. But maybe since I don't have a working account, it's not connecting enough to update? But why doesn't the new demo work?

How can I update the silly thing?

Hey Gary,

Metaquotes blocked access to any build below 500. You'll need to re-install / update your version before being allowed to log in again. Best to re-install if you don't have the LiveUpdate file.

Huh. I thought Empty4 was supposed to manage the update process across 500. Maybe I disabled it by killing LiveUpdate. OK, thanks Jem!
