Hi Dan - we only operate with the indicators Bob has provided on P1 of this thread. Having said that, there is nothing to stop you from using whatever assistance from other indicators you wish. We just don't discuss them here, or the thread would end up as onion gravy.

There are other forums, and threads on those forums, where people jump in and try to fix something that is not broken. This forum keeps a graveyard for such posters - they have been banned for excessively cluttering threads with add-ons.

You could ask on the Philip Nell thread, but it is not kosher here. Keep reading from P1 and you will understand how we got to this point - it's a very worthwhile journey. Above all, read Steve's rules here:

I share your sentiments. If it ain't broke, why fix it ?

Hi Ray singcar appreciate you sharing your strategy, could you post the script or EA that you use to run a trailing stop. thanks
I apply it manually. Right click on your stop loss price in the Order Window, click trailing stop, Custom and apply it there. The value is in points so if you want 30 pips you type in 300 points.
Suggest you test it in demo first.

Hey sorry I thought I edited my post, I was meant to say " Is the bar signal similar......". I'm not trying to add-on things. My intention is just to understand the awesome indicator better.

There is no substitute for reading the thread fully.

Yes, it takes time, and yes it sure is worth it. You will find that the AO is no longer used.
But if you read the early section, it's all in there.

To answer your question without seeing the indi you mentioned, yes. All indies that move are based on a moving average(s) with some kind of math formula, That would mean those that are similar would show similar results. AO is a smoothed out histogram whereas MACD is not as smoothed out. However since both are histograms showing the same price action they would naturally be similar in their signal. I used the AO mainly because of the color change with the change of direction. It makes it more visual at peaks and valleys. The MACD changes at the cross of the MAs which makes it a later signal than the AO. I am not familiar with Neil's MACD signal but if he change the formula some to make it respond quicker to price action it probably would mirror the AO. Just some thoughts. If you are comfortable in using the MACD and can read it better than the AO then there would be no harm in you making a change to the MACD. Combined with the 240 line you probably could raise your trading accuracy.

I saw this and said HMMMMMMMMM either everthing is going to swap places or its time to buy/sell back into the trend. aud/nzd/usd/cad on top on 4H and on the bottom on the daily CSS. Which can mean time to go back into the trend. aud/nzd/cad sells, or change direction. HMMMMMMMM ................ my best guess is ............................. :? Typical crap summer market .......... lower my lot size and try some AUD sells and play a tight SL, maybe NZD will follow. I am going back to bed.

Indeed quite strange, didn't notice that. I am trying to keep the rules tight but getting a little burned with NZD and JPY for the last days. Maybe I should just be enjoying August and not trying to trade it...

I am dabbling and not seriously trading right now. I play smaller lot sizes so if I hit a string of losers it wont damage my account. If I win I just go with a lower percent of increase. I see some movement and if AUD/NZD continue their DT it will be good. If they go into range .......... oh well.

I apply it manually. Right click on your stop loss price in the Order Window, click trailing stop, Custom and apply it there. The value is in points so if you want 30 pips you type in 300 points.
Suggest you test it in demo first.
It works well, thanks for the info. Could you post a screen shot of a pending setup, I thought you were placing your pending's at the pivots but I couldn't see that on your previous example. Thanks
