Re: 10.4 A Complete System
I would recommend closing as many trades as possible today. You dont want to have a bunch of open trades with huge gaps Monday if someone starts throwing bombs and missiles around.

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
Thanks for the new improvements.
Although I don't understand why would the CSS indicators be different depending on the GMT offset.
At this current moment, the strongest and weakest, strong trending and non-trending currencies are the same everywhere, Why would I get different information depeding on the GMT offset.
Shouldn't this indicator be based on the last XX bars (Which are the same for all of us) instead of the broker's time? Another option would be to add an offset parameter to the indicator, maybe this would be easier to implement.
The idea is that when we discuss trades about this system, we all talk having the same base.
Just some ideas, don't mean to disrespect anyones work and effort. Still thankful for this system.
Best regards!

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
I decided a long time ago I would try to be honest about my trading. To let traders know the ups and downs of this business. March, April, May, I was having the best trading months of my career. Did some things I had never done before. Averaging around 50% increase a month. Then June July August came around and it has been up and down. The key though is during these rough trading times is you dont lose your shirt and you keep your account intact. Hopefully this fall things will pick up and I can continue to increase my account and have a real solid year. That is what trading is really like. I am happy that for 2 weeks I was increasing my account over 1% a day but not this week. Really cool, it goes like this. HEY GUYS I am really doing great with this. So I post and crappola. Well not totally I am up 3% for the week and have almost 1/2% up now which I will close soon. So that is trading in reality.art wrote:Glad it's not just me that's had a crappy week, typical august
I hate the guys who run threads and wont reveal their losses, bad days, bad weeks, bad months. To think you can go through a trading cycle and not have losses is absurd. Yet some of these guys make you believe that is the way they always trade.

Actually if you were to think about it, and enough dough to cover, you can always wait long enough to close your trades at break even, so there will never be any losses
I've been trading using OM Dual N EA for the past 2 years, live results can be found over at https://www.fxblue.com/users/kwanann

I agree with you Bob. Who are you fooling by not being honest about your results? My results were very similar to yours. I traded smaller lot sizes and traded conservatively and my net result for the summer was about 12% loss. Great results in the spring increasing account size by around 15%. Bottom line- my account is still larger than when I started with 10.4 and I am much wiser for the summer's experience. I am happy to get a fantastic trading education for less than nothing. The good trading opportunities are in front of us......nanningbob wrote:I decided a long time ago I would try to be honest about my trading. To let traders know the ups and downs of this business. Well closed up for the week. 3.1% for the week. Nothing to brag about but I made money. 10.8% since Aug. 15. So that is my start with 10.6 Catch you guys later. I will see how this Syrian thing plays out before I increase my lot size.
My month of August I was down almost 5% with a DD hovering around 10% kind of ugly. Then I switched to 10.6 and ended up 6% for the month so it was a nice recovery. My DD is almost gone. I am hanging onto a handful of trades over the weekend.

That's a very wise advise as you look at what's going on in the world. I closed out all manual trades (not the EA's).nanningbob wrote:I would recommend closing as many trades as possible today. If something happens, this might bring the markets moving in a trend again later in september.
Do you use a broker with fixed spread or do you take into account when to take a trade because of spread?
I saw a spread of over 11 pips today on CADCHF today after I took the trade. In this ranging market with small TP's this is really high.

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
I believe I had this same scenario Paul. Anyone else seeing trades not close when they expect them to using the EAs? Bob - is this working fine for you? If so maybe we are misinterpreting when the trade should close. I thought it was as price met the MA (LWMA as standard I think)? Really handy EAs to have working.fridayStreet wrote:Has anyone experienced any issues with the closing EAs? I had them on the charts last night to close out while I was asleep, woke up this morning and trades were still open and past the MAs.
Cheers,
Dave.

Tell that to the guy who shorted EURUSD at 0.8562. In 2002.kwanann wrote:Actually if you were to think about it, and enough dough to cover, you can always wait long enough to close your trades at break even, so there will never be any losses
